Abstract

Novel The Host oleh Stephenie Meyer dipilih karena novel tersebut lebih banyak menguji karakter pemimpin wanita lebih banyak dibandingkan novel lain yang memudahkan untuk mengambil data tentang kepemimpinan wanita di era postmodern. Penelitan ini menguji bagaimana novel The Host merepresentasikan persoalan kepemimpinan wanita di era postmodern. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kepemimpinan wanita terhadap feminisme postmodern dari karakter Wanita The Seeker. Wanita The Seeker adalah seorang pemimpin wanita dari The Seeker dalam novel The Host. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu feminisme postmodern oleh Judith Butler dan konsep representasi oleh Stuart Hall. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif interpretatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini, pertama, aspek kepemimpinan wanita yang paling dominan dalam karakter Wanita The Seeker adalah empati. Kedua, aspek feminisme postmodern yang paling dominan dalam karakter Wanita The Seeker adalah penindasan dan kebebasan. The Host novel by Stephenie Meyer is chosen because the novel examines the woman leader character much more than others that make it easier to get the data about feminine leadership in the postmodern era. In alignment, this study examines on how The Host novel represent the feminine leadership issue in the postmodern feminism era. This research aims to analyze feminine leadership towards postmodern feminism of The Seeker Woman character. The Seeker Woman is the woman leader of The Seeker in The Host novel. The analysis uses postmodern feminism by Judith Butler and representation concept by Stuart Hall. The method that used in this research is descriptive interpretative analytical study. The results of this research are, first, the most dominant aspect of feminine leadership in The Seeker Woman character is empathy. Second, the most dominant aspects of postmodern feminism in The Seeker Woman character are oppression and freedom aspect.
