Abstract

Booster adalah salah satu sub mengkategorikan metadiscourse penanda, penguat telah menjadi sumber komunikatif dan persuasif yang signifikan dalam menulis akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penguat digunakan danapa booster dominan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Analisis kualitatif konten berurusan dengan dokumen. Penulis mengambil 3 rubrik pendapat The Jakarta Post, data dari studi ini adalah kata-kata, frasa dan persyaratan yang telah diidentifikasi dalam sumber data tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini pertama, ada 5 jenis penguat; Lexical verb, Modal verb, Adverbial, Adjective, dan Solidarity feature. Kedua, yang paling dominan adalah Adjective dengan persentase 40,00% diikuti oleh adverbia dengan persentase 22.69% dan lexical verb dengan persentase pukul 15.55%. Ketiga fungsi dari booster untuk meyakinkan menulis teks, serta booster yang mungkin bisa memenuhi bagian penting dari menulis akademik; menghubungkan ide-ide atau argumen dalam kalimat dan paragraf. This study aims to find out how Boosters were used, what Boosters were dominantly used, and its functions. This study used qualitative content analysis dealing with documents. Three rubric opinions were taken from The Jakarta Post. The data of this study were words, phrases and clauses which were identified in those data sources. The results of this research are; first, there are 5 types of Booster; Lexical verb, Modal verb, Adverbial, Adjective, and Solidarity feature. Second, the most dominants are the Adjective with a percentage 40.00% followed by Adverbial with a percentage 22.69% and Lexical verb with a percentage 15.55%. Third, the functions of those Boosters are to convince the readers in written text, as well as fulfill the essential part of academic writing; connecting the ideas or arguments within sentences and paragraphs.
