Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana pengembangan kemandirian anak khususnya pada usia 5-6 tahun. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di TK Khalifah Depok. Dengan subjek penelitian adalah anak berusia 5-6 tahun. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian studi kualitatif dengan menggunakan model Miles and Huberman. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengamati dan mencari informasi kepada informan mengenai strategi pengembangan kemandirian yang diterapkan oleh TK Khalifah khususnya di sentra life skill. Temuan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan kemandirian anak usia 5-6 tahun di sentra life skill (1) anak dilatih untuk mandiri, bertanggung jawab, kreatif dan inovatif, (2) materi pengembangan kemandirian mencakup materi tentang cara makan, cara menggunakan peralatan sholat dan cara merawat kebersihan diri serta lingkungan, (3) metode yang digunakan bercerita, tanya jawab, demonstrasi, bernyanyi, bermain peran, (4) media terdiri dari media pembelajaran dan sarana sekolah sebagai media penunjang, (5) kegiatan pengembangan kemandirian melibatkan proses pembiasaan anak pada kegiatan sebelum sentra hingga setelah sentra, (6) evaluasi menggunakan pengamatan langsung, ceklis perkembangan dan deskripsi perkembangan, (7) kemandirian anak meliputi kemandirian makan, toileting, berpakaian dan merawat kebersihan diri. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian adalah secara teoretis, pengembangan kemandirian dapat dijadikan kegiatan pembiasaan yang mendukung anak untuk memiliki sikap mandiri dan bertanggung jawab. *********** *This study aims to see and describe how the development of the child’s independency, especially at the age of 5-6 years. This study is conducted in TK Khalifah Depok, with children aged 5-6 years as the research subject. This study is a qualitative research using Miles and Huberman model. The data collection is done by observation, interview and documentation. The study is conducted by observing and seeking information to the informant regarding the independency of the development strategy adopted by TK Khalifah, especially in centers of life skills. Research findings indicate that the development of the independency of children aged 5-6 years at the center of life skills (1) children are trained to be independent, responsible, creative and innovative, (2) the development of self-reliance material includes material on how to eat, how to use the equipment and how to pray taking care of personal hygiene and the environment, (3) the method used storytelling, question and answer, demonstration, sing, role playing, (4) the media of independency development consisting of instructional media and schools facilities as a supporting media, (5) the development of self-reliance activities involving habituation process before and after the centers activities, (6) evaluation using direct observation, checklists and descriptions of developmental progress, (7) the child's independency includes independency eating, toileting, dressing and taking care of personal hygiene. The implication of the research is theoretical, the development of self-reliance can be habituation activities that support the child to have an independent and responsible attitude.
