Abstract

Pembelajaran Biologi harus diarahkan untuk mengembangkan aspek kognitif, afektif dan Keterampilan Proses Sains. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, pembelajaran selama ini kurang menerapkan pendekatan sainstifik sehingga Keterampilan Proses Sains dan hasil belajar siswa masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan data empiris potensi penerapan Strategi Pembelajaran Inkuiri untuk meningkatkan Keterampilan Proses Sains dan hasil belajar siswa SMA Negeri 1 Tambun Utara, pada materi sistem Pencernaan. Waktu penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester kedua tahun pelajaran 2013/2014 bulan April - Juni 2014. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan 2 siklus. Teknik pengambilan data melalui observasi kelas, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran Inkuiri, wawancara, angket tanggapan siswa dan guru, reflektif jurnal, catatan lapangan, tes hasil belajar, serta lembar observasi Keterampilan Proses Sains. Teknik analisis data meliputi data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Strategi Penerapan Inkuiri meningkatkan hasil belajar dan Keterampilan Proses Sains siswa. Hasil analisis data diperoleh rata- rata peningkatan hasil belajar dari siklus I ke Siklus II sebesar 14 point (62,65 menjadi 76,57). Persentase siswa yang tuntas belajar dari siklus I ke Siklus II terjadi peningkatan sebesar 47,06% (32,35 % menjadi 79,41%). Rata-rata peningkatan Keterampilan Proses Sains dari Siklus I ke Siklus II sebesar 5,6 point (75,25 menjadi 80,83). Kesimpulan penelitian bahwa Penerapan Inkuiri dapat meningkatkan Keterampilan Proses Sains dan hasil belajar kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Tambun Utara. The natures of Biology learning are process, product, behavior, and technology. The biology learning has to be directed to develop the cognitive, affective, and Science Process Skill aspects. Based on the observation, the Biology learning has been applying less scientific learning approach so that the students’ science process skill and learning outcome still have been low and have not been satisfied. This research aims to get empiric data about the potency of using Inquiry Teaching Strategy (ITS) to improve the Science Process skill and learning outcome of SMA Negeri 1 Tambun Utara students on Digestive System material. This research was held at the second semester of school year 2013/2014 in April until June 2014. The method of the research is Classroom Action Research with two cycles. The techniques used to collect data are classroom observation, inquiry teaching strategy observation sheet, interview, students and teachers questionnaire, reflective journal, field note, test of learning outcome, and science process skill observation sheet. The data analysis techniques include quantitative and qualitative data. The result of the research shows that the application of Inquiry Teaching Strategy tends to improve the students’ learning outcome and science process skill. The result of data analysis shows that the average of learning outcome improvement from cycle I to cycle II is 14 points (62,65 to 76,07). There is an improvement on the percentage of students who study completely, i.e. 47,06% (32,35% to 79,41%). The improvement average of science process skill is 5,6 points (75,25 into 80,83). The conclusion of this research is that the application of Inquiry Teaching Strategy can improve the science process skill and learning outcome of the students of grade XI- science at SMA Negeri 1 Tambun Utara.
