Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode pembelajaran PP-ETH terhadap kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 283 Jakarta. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 283 Jakarta, semester genap, tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group desaign. Pengambilan data dilakukan secara random. Jumlah sampel yang diambil sebanyak 60 siswa dengan 30 siswa kelas kontrol dan 30 siswa kelas eksperimen. Instrumen penilaian yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi dengan teknik analisis data menggunakan uji-t. Perhitungan yang didapat dari sampel di atas adalah 60 untuk rata-rata posttest kelas kontrol dan 67 untuk rata-rata kelas eksperimen. Uji persyaratan analisis yang digunakan adalah uji normalitas (Liliefors) dapat diperoleh Lo (0,131) < Lt (0,161) pada kelas eksperimen dan Lo (0,094) < Lt (0,161) pada kelas kontrol dengan taraf signifikansi α = 0,05. Maka kedua sampel di atas berdistribusi normal. Selain itu, dilakukan juga uji Fisher dengan hasil yang diperoleh Fo (1,014) < Ft (2,423) dengan taraf signifikansi α = 0,05, maka kedua sampel dinyatakan varian yang homogen. Hasil dari uji-t adalah thitung (4,585) > ttabel (2,001), maka dapat dikatakan hipotesis penelitian diterima. Dengan demikian terdapat pengaruh penggunaan metode Picture and Picture dan Every One is a Teacher Here (PP�ETH) terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 283 Jakarta. Metode Picture and Picture dan Every One is a Teacher Here (PP-ETH) adalah metode belajar dengan memanfaatkan objek gambar dan kartu pertanyaan, agar siswa terpacu untuk berpikir kritis dan logis. Metode Picture and Picture dan Every One is a Teacher Here (PP-ETH) juga dapat diimplikasikan dalam pembelajaran teks lain, seperti teks laporan hasil observasi. Agar mencapai hasil yang makasimal, sebelum memulai pembelajaran dengan metode Picture and Picture dan Everyone is a Teacher Here, sebaiknya guru menyiapkan gambar yang menarik agar siswa termotivasi dalam menulis teks deskripsi. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of PP-ETH learning methods on the ability to write text description of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 283 Jakarta. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 283 Jakarta, even semester, academic year 2016/2017. This research uses experimental method with design pretest-posttest control group desaign. Data collection is done randomly. The number of samples taken as many as 60 students with 30 control class students and 30 students of the experimental class. The assessment instrument used is the ability to write descriptive text with data analysis technique using t-test. The calculations obtained from the above samples were 60 for the mean posttest of the control class and 67 for the average of the experimental class. Test of analysis requirement used is normality test (Liliefors) can be obtained Lo (0,131) <Lt (0,161) in experiment class and Lo (0,094) <Lt (0,161) at control class with significance level α = 0,05. Then the two samples above are normally distributed. In addition, Fisher test was performed with Fo (1,014) <Ft (2,423) with significance level α = 0,05, both samples were declared homogeneous variant. The result of t-test is thitung (4,585)> ttable (2,001), hence can be said research hypothesis accepted. Thus there is influence of the use of Picture and Picture method and Every One is a Teacher Here (PP-ETH) on the ability to write grade VII students of SMP Negeri 283 Jakarta. Picture and Picture Method and Every One is a Teacher Here (PP-ETH) is a method of learning by utilizing object images and question cards, so that students are encouraged to think critically and logically. The Picture and Picture and Every One is Teacher Here (PP-ETH) methods can also be implied in other text lessons, such as observational report text. In order to achieve the maximum results, before beginning the learning with the Picture and Picture method and Everyone is a Teacher Here, the teacher should prepare an interesting drawing so that students are motivated in writing the description text.
