Abstract

This way research aims to describe and analyze the relationship between the ability of solfegio and vocal in students majoring in music art education, Jakarta State University. This research using quantitative method and types of research is correlation. Data collection technique using documentative technique with secondary data. While, analyze technique using t testing correlatin pearson’s product moment. The result research is there are correlation significant between the ability of solfegio and vocal (value significancy t is 0,000 ≤ significancy α is 0,05). Value of r correlation is 0,449 or 44,90%. This can interpreted that solfegio ability variable and vocal ability variable have correlation level has a good enough level with each level of solfeggio ability and vocal ability of students as follows: (1) the level of student solfegio ability included in the high classification was 51 students (87,93%), middle classification was 1 student (1,72%) and low classification was 6 students (10,34%). (2) the level of student vocal ability included in the high classification was 8 students (13,79%), middle classification was 42 students (72,41%) and low classification was 8 students (13,79%).
