Abstract
Setiap guru memiliki harapan untuk sukses dalam karirnya. Upaya mencapai posisi karir akan berkaitan dengan pengembangan orientasi karir. Orientasi karir pada guru merupakan hal penting karena guru menjadi salah satu pekerjaan yang memiliki prospek masa depan dan banyak mendambakan profesi tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi orientasi karir pada guru berdasarkan latar belakang gender, jenjang pendidikan dan asal daerah (geografis). Peneliti menggunakan teori jangkar karir (career anchor) Schein yang telah di kembangkan oleh Igbaria dan Baroudi (1993) yang membagi sembilan dimensi jangkar karir. Sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik area sampling. Dari 23 MAN IC yang tersebar di seluruh Indonesia, peneliti memilih 9 MAN IC sebagai sampel penelitian dengan jumlah guru 327 orang namun yang melengkapi angket didapatkan 157 responden. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah Career Orientation Inventory (COI) yang telah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa indonesia, instrumen ini terdiri dari 25 item pernyataan. Teknik analisis menggunakan analysis of variance (ANOVA) dan Independent Sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gambaran umum orientasi karir pada guru MAN IC yang paling tinggi rata-ratanya yaitu pada dimensi job security dan jangkar karir dengan rata-rata terendah yaitu pada dimensi lifestyle integration. Dari sembilan dimensi jangkar karir, delapan dimensi tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan orientasi karir pada guru laki-laki maupun perempuan, kecuali pada dimensi managerial competence, dimana skor laki-laki memiliki nilai yang lebih tinggi daripada perempuan. Berdasarkan jenjang pendidikan, sembilan dimensi jangkar karir tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan orientasi karir pada guru baik yang memiliki jenjang pendidikan S1, S2 maupun S3. Berdasarkan latar belakang asal daerah (geografis) menunjukkan bahwa tujuh dimensi tidak terdapat perbedaan orientasi karir, kecuali pada dimensi managerial competence dan job security, dimana guru yang berasal dari Sulawesi memiliki skor managerial competence lebih tinggi dibanding empat wilayah lainnya, sedangkan dalam dimensi job security, guru yang berasa dari Jawa memiliki skor tertinggi dibanding empat wilayh lainnya. Hasil penelitian ini menambah khazanah keilmuan mengenai orientasi karir pada guru di Indonesia yang saat ini masih jarang ditemukan serta masukan bagi lembaga MAN IC untuk memperhatikan orientasi karir pada guru-gurunya, terutama pada aspek managerial competence bagi guru perempuan dan juga dimensi job security bagi guru MAN IC yang berasal dari Jawa khususnya, dan seluruh Indonesia pada umumnya karena mengingat Madrasah ini menjadi salah satu Madrasah unggulan di Indonesia yang mengharuskan guru�gurunya bekerja lebih ekstra dalam berbagai pelayanan kepada peserta didik Every teacher has hope for success in his career. Efforts to achieve a career position will be related to the development of career orientation. Career orientation to teachers is important because teachers are one of the jobs that have future prospects and many yearn for the profession. This study aims to explore teacher career orientation based on gender background, education level and regional origin (geographical). The researcher uses Schein's career anchor theory which has been developed by Igbaria and Baroudi (1993) which divides nine dimensions of career anchor. The research sample uses area sampling technique. From 23 MAN ICs spread throughout Indonesia, the researchers chose nine MAN ICs as the research sample with a total of 327 teachers but who completed the questionnaire found 157 respondents. The research instrument used is the Career Orientation Inventory (COI) which has been adapted into Indonesian, this instrument consists of 25 statement items. The analysis technique uses analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Independent Sample t-test. The results showed that general description of the career orientation of MAN IC teachers with the highest average, namely the job security dimension and career anchors with the lowest average, namely the lifestyle integration dimension. Of the nine dimensions of career anchors, there were no significant differences in career orientation for male and female teachers, except for the managerial competence dimension, where male scores had higher scores than female teachers. Based on the level of education, the nine dimensions of career anchors have no significant differences in the career orientation of teachers, both those with undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels of education. Based on the background of regional origin (geographical) shows that there are no differences in career orientation in the seven dimensions, except for the managerial competence and job security dimensions, where teachers from Sulawesi have a higher managerial competence score than the other four regions, while in the job security dimension , teachers who come from Java have the highest score compared to the other four regions. The results of this study add to the scientific treasures regarding teacher career orientation in Indonesia which are currently still rarely found as well as input for the MAN IC institution to pay attention to the career orientation of its teachers, especially in the managerial competence aspect for female teachers and also the job security dimension for MAN IC teachers who from Java in particular, and throughout Indonesia in general, because considering that this Madrasa is one of the leading Madrasas in Indonesia, which requires teachers to work extra in various services to students
