Abstract

Tabir surya merupakan kosmetik yang berfungsi untuk melindungi kulit dari sinar ultraviolet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah mahasiswa tata rias UNJ memiliki persepsi yang baik terhadap kosmetik tabir surya. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa aktif tata rias di Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 81 responden. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah proportionate stratified random sampling. Instrumen penelitian adalah kuesioner tertutup untuk mendapatkan gambaran mengenai persepsi mahasiswa berdasarkan indikator pengetahuan, kebutuhan, dan pengalaman terhadap kosmetik tabir surya. Instrumen diuji menggunakan uji validitas menggunakan product moment (r) bila rhitung>rtabel maka instrumen dianggap valid, pada penelitian ini nilai rtabel yaitu 0,361 sehingga didapatkan hasil 26 dari 30 pertanyaan dianggap valid. Uji reliabilitas menggunakan rumus alpha Cronbach, nilai α pada penelitian ini adalah 0,938 sehingga instrumen dapat dinyatakan reliabel (α>0,6). Teknik analisis menggunakan deskriptif persentase dan rating scale. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa tata rias UNJ terhadap kosmetik tabir surya berdasarkan indikator pengetahuan berdasarkan pengetahuan terhadap sinar ultraviolet, pengetahuan terhadap kosmetik tabir surya, pengetahuan terhadap manfaat tabir surya, pengetahuan terhadap kontradindikasi tabir surya, dan pengetahuan terhadap cara penggunaan tabir surya termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik dengan nilai persentase 87%, pada indikator kebutuhan terhadap tabir surya untuk kesehatan dan kecantikan kulit termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik dengan nilai persentase 80,1%, dan pada indikator pengalaman terhadap penggunaan tabir surya termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik dengan nilai persentase 91%. ***** Sunscreen was a cosmetic that usefuls to protect the skin from ultraviolet rays. This study aims to determine whether Jakarta State University’s cosmetology students have a good perception of sunscreen cosmetics. The research population was active students majoring in cosmetology at the Jakarta State Univeristy. The sample used in this study amounted to 81 respondents. This research is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used is proportionate stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a closed questionnaire to get an overview of student perceptions based on indicators of knowledge, needs, and experience of sunscreen cosmetics. The instrument was tested using a validity test using the product moment (r) if rcount>rtable then the instrument was considered valid, in this study the rtable value was 0.361 so that 26 out of 30 questions were considered valid. The reliability test used Cronbach's alpha formula, the value of in this study was 0.938 so that the instrument could be declared reliable (α> 0.6). The analysis technique uses descriptive percentage and rating scale. Hypothesis testing is done by using the Z test. The results of this study indicate that Jakarta State University's cosmetology students' perceptions of sunscreen cosmetics were based on knowledge of ultraviolet light, knowledge of sunscreen cosmetics, knowledge of the benefits of sunscreen, knowledge of sunscreen contraindications, and knowledge of how to use sunscreen. very good category with percentage value of 87%, on the indicator of the need for sunscreen for skin health and beauty were in the very good category with a percentage value of 80,1%, and on the experience indicator of using sunscreen was in the very good category with percentage value of 91%.
