Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kekerasan verbal orangtua terhadap konsep diri remaja. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif asosiatif dengan metode survei. Pengambilan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Negeri 1 Leuwiliang, Kabupaten Bogor, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 103 responden yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Berdasarkan pengolahan data, diketahui bahwa mayoritas sampel berada pada tingkat kekerasan verbal rendah (69,9%) dan konsep diri remaja yang dimiliki sampel berada pada kategori sedang (53,4%). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kekerasan verbal orangtua berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap konsep diri remaja (p-value = 0,000 < 0,050). Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi kekerasan verbal orangtua yang diterima oleh remaja, maka akan semakin rendah konsep diri remaja. Oleh karena itu penting bagi orangtua untuk menciptakan komunikasi dan interaksi yang baik, menunjukkan kasih sayang dan perhatian kepada remaja. Dengan demikian, remaja akan merasa dicintai, dibutuhkan, dihargai, dan mengembangkan konsep diri yang positif. ***** This study aims to analyze the effect of parental verbal abuse on adolescents self-concept. The approach used in this study is quantitative associative with a survey method. Collecting data in this study using a questionnaire. The population in this study was high school students of SMA Negeri 1 Leuwiliang, Kabupaten Bogor, with a total sample of 103 respondents selected with the purposive sampling technique. Based on data result, it is known that majority sample are categorized as low level of parental verbal abuse (69,9%) and the adolescents self-concept received by the majority sample are belong to middle category (53,4%). Analysis data shows that parental verbal abuse has a negative and significant effect on adolescents self concept (p-value = 0,000 < 0,050). This study shows that the higher parental verbal abuse level, the lower adolescents self-concept. Therefore, it is important for parents to create good communication and interaction, show affection, love and attention to adolescents. So, that adolescents will feel loved, needed, appreciated, and will develop a positive self-concept.
