Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan koneksi sosial dengan kesepian pada lansia di Rumah Pelayanan Sosial Lanjut Usia Klampok Brebes. Responden pada penelitian ini berjumlah 74 orang lansia yang ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan pengisian kuesioner. Data yang sudah dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji korelasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara koneksi sosial dengan kesepian pada lansia. Koneksi sosial dengan kesepian memiliki hubungan yang negatif (r=-0.573, p=0.000<0.05), artinya semakin tinggi koneksi sosial yang dialami oleh lansia maka akan semakin rendah rasa kesepian yang dialami oleh lansia. Oleh karena itu, dalam mengurangi kesepian pada lansia, lembaga pengelola lansia dapat memberikan peningkatan konseling, serta mempertahankan kegiatan-kegiatan yang dapat meningkatkan koneksi sosial lansia untuk menumbuhkan rasa kepemilikan antara satu dengan yang lainnya. Kata Kunci: kesepian, koneksi sosial, lansia ********** This study aims to determine the relationship between social connection and loneliness in the elderly at “Rumah Pelayanan Sosial Lanjut Usia Klampok Brebes”. Respondents in this study amounted to 74 elderly people who were determined using purposive sampling technique. Data collection was done by filling out a questionnaire. The data that has been collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlation tests. This research shows that there is a relationship between social connection and loneliness in the elderly. Social connection with loneliness has a negative relationship (r=-0.573, p=0.000<0.05), meaning that the higher the social connection experienced by the elderly, the lower the feeling of loneliness experienced by the elderly. Therefore, elderly management institutions can increase counseling and maintain activities that can increase the social connections of the elderly to foster a sense of belonging to one another in order to reduce loneliness in the elderly.
