Abstract
Pendidikan di Indonesia memiliki sejarah panjang yang nantinya akan melahirkan tokoh – tokoh intelektual dari nasional sampai lokal. Bengkulu Selatan juga terdapat tokoh intelektual yang berkiprah dalam bidang pendidikan. Tesis ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana Kiprah Hasanuddin Damrah dalam menggerakkan pendidikan di Bengkulu Selatan pada tahun 1941-1968. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian historis. Langkah –langkahnya Heuristik, Kritik Sumber, Interpretasi dan Historiografi. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu peranan Hasan melakukan kiprah sebagai guru profesional, Hasan berhasil menjadi teladan dalam keseluruhan sikap sebagai pendidik sepanjang hidupnya sikap mendidik dan disiplin. Sebagai kepala sekolah Hasan mendirikan SMP Negeri Manna, SMA Negeri Manna. Sebagai tokoh berkiprah dalam pendidikan Hasan juga berkiprah sebagai pemimpin Badan Pembangunan Sekolah Lanjutan yang nantinya berdirinya sekolah-sekolah di wilayah Bengkulu Selatan, serta penggerak pendidikan pertama dalam pendirian Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan di Provinsi Bengkulu melalui kiprah yang Hasan lakukan Hasan diidentik dengan kepemimpinan karismatik. ***** Education in Indonesia has a long history which will later give birth to intellectual figures from national to local. South Bengkulu also has intellectual figures who take part in the field of education. This thesis aims to find out how Hasanuddin Damrah's gait in moving education in South Bengkulu in 1941-1968. This research uses historical research. The steps are Heuristics, Source Criticism, Interpretation and Historiography. The results of this study are Hasan's role as a professional teacher, Hasan succeeded in being an example in his overall attitude as an educator throughout his life, educating and disciplined attitudes. As the principal, Hasan founded the Manna State Middle School, Manna State High School. As a figure who took part in education, Hasan also took part as the leader of the Advanced School Development Agency which later established schools in the South Bengkulu area, as well as the first education driver in the establishment of the Education and Culture Office in Bengkulu Province through the work that Hasan did. Hasan was identified with charismatic leadership.
