Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan perbedaan yang terjadi pada setiap perubahan dalam Sejarah alat musik Biola selama periode Abad Pertengahan pada abad ke-8 hingga Abad ke-20 yang berfokus pada tinjauan Organologi yang meliputi secara bentuk, fungsional, teknik permainan, peranan para tokoh dan karakteristik suara. Penelitian ini ditujukan khususnya kepada para pemain biola dan pengajar pedagogik dalam alat musik Biola. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat membantu, menambah wawasan dan literatur bagi pendidik dan mahasiswa yang membutuhkan informasi untuk menambah wawasan mengenai alat musik biola. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Kualitatif dengan pendekatan Historis dan Organologi Musik. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara studi literatur, studi dokumentasi dan wawancara melalui surat elektronik (surel atau email). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah Reduksi Data, Penyajian Data dan Penarikan Kesimpulan, dengan menggunakan Triangulasi Data untuk memperoleh keabsahan data. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama bulan Februari – Juni 2022. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan 8 tahapan perkembangan biola ditinjau dari periode abad Pertengahan hingga Abad ke-20, yaitu; 1) Tahun 375 – 1100 Rebab sebagai cikal bakal biola di Spanyol; 2) Tahun 1100 – 1200 Rebec sebagai alat musik gesek pertama di Eropa; 3) Tahun 1100 – 1200 Crowd berkembang di Inggris; 4) Tahun 1200 -1400 Fiddle sebagai alat musik gesek utama pada periode Abad Pertengahan; 5) Tahun 1400 –1500 Lira da bracchio hadir dengan 7 senar; 6) Tahun 1500 – 1600 Viola da bracchio sebagai cikal bakal bentuk utama biola; 7) Tahun 1600 – 1750 model dan ukuran Biola Andrea Amati dianggap sebagai standarisasi dalam membuat biola; 8) Tahun 1963 – 2000 Bobby Hicks memperkenalkan biola 5 senar di Amerika Serikat. ********* This study aims to identify and describe the differences that occur in each change in the history of the violin instrument during the Medieval Period in the 8th century to the 20th Century which focuses on an organology review which includes form, function, playing technique, roles of characters and sound characteristics. This research is aimed specifically at violinists and pedagogical teachers in the violin instrument. This research is expected to help, add insight and literature for educators and students who need information to add insight. This research method uses a qualitative research method with a historical approach and musical organology. The data collection process was carried out by means of literature studies, documentation studies and interviews via electronic mail (e-mail). The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. By using data triangulation to obtain data validity. This research was conducted during February – June 2022. The results of this study show 8 stages of violin development in terms of the medieval period to the 20th century, that is; 1) Years 375 – 1100 the Rebab as the forerunner of the violin in Spain; 2) Years 1100 – 1200 Rebec as the first stringed instrument in Europe; 3) Years 1100 – 1200 Crowd flourished in England; 4) Years 1200 -1400 Fiddle as the main stringed instrument in the medieval period; 5) Years 1400 – 1500 Lira da bracchio came with 7 strings; 6) Years 1500 – 1600 Viola da bracchio as the forerunner of the main form of the violin; 7) Years 1600 – 1750 Andrea Amati observes the model and size of the violin as a standard in making violins; 8) In 1963 – 2000 Bobby Hicks introduces the 5 string violin in the United States.
