Abstract

The objective of this research is to understand comprehensively the Implementation of group counseling through Person-Centered Therapy on socially maladjusted children at Panti Sosial Marsudi Putra Handayani, East Jakarta. The data were collected through observation, interview, document study, recording, and leading a group counseling through Person-Centered Therapy. The data analysis and interpretation indicate that the group counseling were impact to (1) increasing social interaction and building relationship among peer group; (2) increasing learning motivation of each participant; (3 )increasing individual mindset to prepare their future life. The findings lead to the recommendation to apply the group counseling through Person-Centered Therapy at Panti Sosial Marsudi Putra Handayani, East Jakarta as one of its counseling program. The program is expected to leverage the success of holding socially maladjusted children. It is also recommended to provide social workers with training program to improve their counseling skills.
