Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan dan menafsirkan proses pembentukan subjek yang terjadi dalam cerpen Sumur karya Eka Kurniawan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi. Analisis dilakukan berdasarkan teori pembentukan subjek, Jacques Lacan. Menurut Lacan subjek terbentuk melalui tiga tatanana yaitu riil, imajiner, dan simbolik dan fase subjektivasi terletak pada fase mirror-stage yang terdapat pada fase imajiner. Tatanan riil adalah tatanan sebelum adanya bahasa dan subjek mengalami keterpenuhan. Tanana imajiner adalah fase dimana subjek mulai mengindentifikasi dirinya melalui ‘cermin’. Tatanan simbolik adalah semua yang berhubungan dengan simbol-simbol seperti hukum, norma, kebudayaan, dsb. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam cerpen Sumur didapati proses pembentukan subjek dalam kedua tokoh utama. Kedua subjek dibentuk atas hasrat yang terbentuk atas Eksitensial Lack. Kedua tokoh tersebut mengalami keterpecahan di tatanan imajiner dan berusaha untuk mencari keterpenuhan melalui perwujudan hasrat-hasrat mereka. Kata Kunci: Hasrat, Represi, Simbolik, Subjek, Sumur The purpose of this study is to describe and interpret the process of subject formation that occurs in the Sumur short story by Eka Kurniawan. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis techniques. The analysis was carried out based on the theory of subject formation, Jacques Lacan. According to Lacan, the subject is formed through three arrangements, namely real, imaginary, and symbolic, and the subjectivity phase lies in the mirror-stage phase which is in the imaginary phase. The real order is the order before the existence of language and the subject is fulfilled. Imaginary Tanana is the phase where the subject begins to identify himself through the 'mirror'. Symbolic order is everything related to symbols such as laws, norms, culture, etc. The results of this study indicate that in the Sumur short story, the process of forming the subject in the two main characters is found. Both subjects are formed on the desire that is formed on Existential Lack. Both characters experience a split in the imaginary order and try to find fulfillment through the realization of their desires. Keywords: Desire, Repression, Subject, Symbolic, Well
