Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari parasocial relationship terhadap romantic beliefs penonton serial bergenre romantic pada dewasa awal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan pengambilan data dengan kuesioner. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan SPSS versi 26 dan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan analisis regresi linear. Responden pada penelitian ini berjumlah 210 dewasa awal dengan rentang usia 19-30 tahun yang menonton minimal 1 episode dalam 1 minggu dan pengguna salah satu platform streaming legal. Alat ukur penelitian ini menggunakan Romantic Beliefs Scale (RBS) dari Sprecher dan Metts (1989) dan Multiple Parasocial Relationship Scale (MPRS) dari Tukachinsky (2010). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan p-value = 0,000 < α = 0,05 dimana terdapat pengaruh dari parasocial relationship terhadap romantic beliefs penonton serial bergenre romatis pada dewasa awal. Nilai R-SQ sebesar 0,153 yang menunjukkan besaran pengaruh dari parasocial relationship terhadap romantic beliefs sebesar 15,3% dan sisanya 84,7% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain. ***** This study aims to determine the effect of parasocial relationship on romantic beliefs of viewers of romantic genre serials in early adulthood stage. This study was conducted using quantitative methods and data collection by questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 26 and hypothesis testing using linear regression analysis. Respondents in this study were 210 early adults with an age range of 19-30 years who watched at least 1 episode per week and were users of one of the legal streaming platforms. The measuring instrument of this study used the Romantic Beliefs Scale (RBS) from Sprecher and Metts (1989) and the Multiple Parasocial Relationship Scale (MPRS) from Tukachinsky (2010). The results showed that p-value = 0.000 < α = 0.05 where there was an influence of parasocial relationship on romantic beliefs of viewers of romantic serials genre in early adulthood stage. The R-SQ value is 0.153 which indicates the influence of parasocial relationship on romantic beliefs is 15.3% and the remaining 84.7% is influenced by other variables.
