Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari kecenderungan adiksi situs jejaring sosial terhadap online student engagement pada mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 357 orang mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta yang sedang menjalani perkuliahan online. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah adaptasi Social Networking Sites Addiction (Turel & Sarenko, 2012) dan The Engagement Scale (Sun & Rueda, 2012). Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis regresi sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Ha diterima dan H null ditolak dengan arah pengaruh negatif. Sebanyak 1,5% kecenderungan adiksi situs jejaring mempengaruhi behavioral engagement, 1,6% emotional engagement, dan 1,8% cognitive engagement pada mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta. This study aims to investigate the effect of social networking sites addiction tendencies on online student engagement among Jakarta State University undergraduate students. The sample consist of 357 collage students of State University of Jakarta who are undergoing online lectures. The instruments used are adaptations of Social Networking Sites Addiction Scale (Turel & Sarenko, 2012) and the adaptation of The Engagement Scale (Sun & Rueda, 2012). The research approach used is quantitative approach with simple regression analysis. The results showed that Ha was accepted and H null was rejected with a negative influence. As much as 1,5% tendency of social network site addiction affects behavioral engagement, 1,6% affects emotional engagement, 1,8% affects cognitive engagement of Jakarta State University collage students.
