Abstract

Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh dari intimate of friendship terhadap self disclosure para dewasa awal pengguna second account Instagram khususnya di daerah Jabodetabek. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan teknik non-probability sampling dan purposive sampling. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah sebanyak 206 responden dengan kriteria dewasa awal berusia 18-25 tahun, berdomisili di Jabodetabek, serta memiliki second account Instagram. Pengukuran self disclosure menggunakan alat ukur Revised Self Disclosure Scale (RSDS) yang dikemukakan oleh Wheeless (1978) yang berisi 31 aitem dengan mengacu pada 5 aspek utama self disclosure. Pada variabel intimate of friendship digunakan alat ukur Intimate of Friendship Scale (IFS) milik Sharabany (1994) berjumlah 32 aitem yang disusun berdasarkan 8 aspek utama dalam intimate of friendship. Ditemukan hasil pada penelitian ini yaitu terdapat pengaruh signifikan yang diberikan intimate of friendship terhadap self disclosure dewasa awal pengguna second account Instagram dengan arah positif. Adapun besaran pengaruh yang diberikan variabel intimate of friendship pada variabel self disclosure sebanyak 43,4% dan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of intimate of friendship on the self-disclosure of early adults using second accounts Instagram, especially in the Jabodetabek area. This study uses quantitative research methods with non-probability sampling and purposive sampling techniques. The sample in this study amounted to 206 respondents with criteria for early adulthood aged 18-25 years, domiciled in Jabodetabek, and have a second account Instagram. The measurement of self-disclosure uses the Revised Self Disclosure Scale (RSDS) as proposed by Wheeless (1978) which contains 31 items with reference to 5 main aspects of self-disclosure. In the intimate of friendship variable, Sharabany's (1994) Intimate of Friendship Scale (IFS) measuring instrument is used with 32 items arranged based on 8 main aspects in intimate of friendship. Data processing was carried out using the SPSS IBM 22 application. The results found in this study were that there was a significant effect given by intimate of friendship on the self-disclosure of early adults using second accounts Instagram in a positive direction. The magnitude of the influence given by the intimate of friendship variable on the self-disclosure variable is 43.4% and the rest is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
