Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan manajemen kurikulum berbasis karakter yang diselenggarakan Sekolah Dasar Karakter Genius Islamic School, khususnya dari proses perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pengembangan, hingga evaluasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Informan penelitian terdiri dari kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, guru, dan orang tua peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa implementasi kurikulum berbasis karakter diterapkan di Sekolah Dasar Karakter Genius Islamic School, yakni: (1) perencanaan kurikulum berbasis karakter dilakukan dengan menganalisis kebutuhan peserta didik, studi banding dengan sekolah sejenis, dan analisis jurnal internasional terkait nilai karakter. (2) pengorganisasian kurikulum berbasis karakter dilakukan dengan pendelegasian tugas, pengorganisasian mata pelajaran, pengorganisasian pembelajaran yang akan disampaikan, dan pengorganisasian pengembangan diri peserta didik. (3) pengembangan kurikulum berbasis karakter dilakukan dalam tiga langkah; pengintegrasian dalam pembelajaran, pembiasaan keseharian, dan program-program penunjang. (4) evaluasi kurikulum berbasis karakter dilakukan perpekan dan pertahun dengan mendasarkan pada penilaian oleh guru, laporan kegiatan sekolah, perkembangan peserta didik, masukan dari guru, dan keputusan akhir oleh kepala sekolah. ***** This study aims to describe the character-based curriculum management held by Sekolah Dasar Karakter Genius Islamic School, especially from the planning, organizing, development, and evaluation processes. This study uses a qualitative approach and descriptive method. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation studies. Research informants consisted of principals, vice principals in the field of curriculum, teachers, and parents of students. The results showed that the implementation of the character-based curriculum was applied at Sekolah Dasar Karakter Genius Islamic School, that is: (1) character-based curriculum planning was carried out by analyzing the needs of students, comparative studies with similar schools, and analysis of international journals related to character values. (2) organizing a character-based curriculum is carried out by delegating tasks, organizing subjects, organizing how the learning be delivered, and organizing student self-development. (3) character-based curriculum development is carried out in three steps; integration in learning, daily habituation, and supporting programs. (4) evaluation of the character-based curriculum is carried out weekly and annually based on assessments by teachers, reports on school activities, student progress, input from teachers, and final decisions by the principal.
