Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dilema yang dialami oleh tokoh Kang Mi-Seon sebagai yang harus menjalankan peran di ranah publik dan ranah domestik dalam Drama Korea “Mother of Mine” pada episode 70-90. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan analisis wacana kritis Teun Van Dijk. Data yang diambil dalam penelitian ini bersumber dari studi literatur dan dokumentasi. Penelitian dilakukan sejak Desember 2021 – Januari 2022 dengan mengamati setiap adegan beserta dialog yang ada di dalam drama “Mother of Mine” episode 70-90 . Kemudian peneliti menganalisis setiap adegan beserta dialog yang ada dengan menggunakan metode analisis wacana Teun Van Dijk. Data sekunder yang didapat dari sejumlah sumber referensi juga turut ditambahkan untuk memperkaya penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bentuk-bentuk dilema seorang ibu bekerja adalah berupa beban ganda dalam pengasuhan anak, beban ganda dalam pengurusan rumah tangga, dan pengurusan rumah oleh asisten rumah tangga jika tetap bekerja. Jika berhenti bekerja, maka pendidikan tinggi yang diraih akan berakhir sia-sia. Kemudian, perekonomian keluarga akan tersendat dan tetap mengalami stress karena pekerjaan rumah tangga yang begitu melelahkan. Hal ini disebabkan ajaran konfusianisme yang dipraktikan secara kuat pada era Dinasti Joseon di mana perempuan benar-benar hanya ditempatkan di ranah domestik. ***** This study aims to describe the dilemma experienced by the character Kang Mi- Seon as having to carry out roles in the public and domestic spheres in the Korean Drama "Mother of Mine" in episodes 70-90. This research method uses critical discourse analysis of Teun Van Dijk. The data taken in this study were sourced from literature and documentation studies. The research was carried out from December 2021 - January 2022 by observing every scene and dialogue in the drama "Mother of Mine" episodes 70-90. Then the researcher analyzed each scene along with the existing dialogues using the Teun Van Dijk discourse analysis method. Secondary data obtained from a number of reference sources were also added to enrich this research. The results of this study indicate that the dilemmas of a working mother are in the form of a double burden in child care, a double burden in household management, and house maintenance by a household assistant if they continue to work. If you stop working, your higher education will end in vain. Then, the family's economy will stagnate and continue to experience stress because of the tiring household work. This is due to the Confucian teachings that were practiced strongly in the Joseon Dynasty era where women were really only placed in the domestic sphere.
