Abstract

Literasi sains merupakan kemampuan untuk menggunakan pengetahuan dan proses ilmiah untuk dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan di alam. Hal ini berhubungan dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis yang dimiliki untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut. Motivasi juga berperan dalam menumbuhkan semangat literasi dan berpikir kritis dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kemampuan berpikir kritis dan motivasi dengan literasi sains peserta didik SMA. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMAN 5 Depok pada tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan studi korelasional. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 124 peserta didik SMA kelas X MIPA yang dipilih dengan teknik Simple Random Sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan instrumen tes berpikir kritis, motivasi dan literasi sains. Uji prasyarat menunjukkan data normal dan homogen. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa (1) Terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan literasi sains. (2) Tidak terdapat hubungan positif antara motivasi dengan literasi sains. (3) Terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara kemampuan berpikir kritis dan motivasi secara bersama-sama dengan literasi sains. Informasi yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan bagi peserta didik dan guru untuk dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains dengan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan motivasi. Kata Kunci: Berpikir Kritis, Literasi Sains, Motivasi Scientific literacy is the ability to use scientific knowledge and processes to solve problems in nature. This relates to the ability to think critically possessed to solve these problems. Motivation also plays a role in fostering the spirit of literacy and critical thinking in the learning process. This study aims to determine the relationship between critical thinking skills and motivation with scientific literacy in high school students. This research was conducted at SMAN 5 Depok in 2019/2020 school year. The method used is descriptive method with correlational studies. The total sample of 124 high school students of grade X MIPA were selected using the Simple Random Sampling technique. Data collection is done by providing test instruments for critical thinking, motivation and scientific literacy. Prerequisite tests showed normal and homogeneous data. The analysis shows that (1) There is a positive relationship and significant with the ability to think critically with scientific literacy. (2) There is no positive relationship between motivation and scientific literacy. (3) There is a positive relationship and significant between the ability to think critically and motivation together with scientific literacy. Information obtained from the results of this study can be a reference for students and teachers to be able to improve the ability of scientific literacy with increasing of critical thinking skills and motivation.
