Abstract

We rely on the capabilities of human resources in this globalization era. Vocational education graduates are expected to become productive individuals who are able to become intermediate workers and have readiness to face job competition. As the spearhead, teachers have a very important role, human resource management, it is necessary to link organizational strategy and human resources. When a person feels satisfaction at work, he will do everything possible to the best of his ability to complete his job assignments. Communication plays a very important role. Humans have social needs, which can be met through interpersonal communication. Interpersonal communication is useful for smoothing the flow of communication, both between superiors and subordinates vertically and fellow workers horizontally. Work motivation has an important and very basic role in the implementation of public service tasks that will accelerate the achievement of organizational goals. The research uses a quantitative approach method, survey descriptive method. The population of these study were private vocational high school teachers in East Jakarta. The data description in this section includes data on variable Y (Job Satisfaction) as the final endogenous variable, variable X1 (Interpersonal Communication) as an exsogenous variable and variable X2 (Work Motivation) as an intermediate endogenous variable. The description of each variable is presented successively starting from the variables Y, X1, and X2. The results of hypothesis testing can be concluded which there is the positive direct effect of interpersonal communication and working motivation on the job satisfaction with the correlation coefficient of 0.767 and the value of Fcount (105.214)> Ftable (3.06). So that interpersonal communication and working motivation have the positive direct effect on the job satisfaction. Interpersonal communication and working motivation resulted in an increase in the job satisfaction for the private vocational high school teachers in Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta Region. Key Words: Interpersonal communication, work motivation, increasing job satisfaction.***********Kita mengandalkan pada kemampuan sumber daya manusia di era Globalisasi ini. Peserta didik lulusan pendidikan kejuruan, diharapkan menjadi individu yang produktif, yang mampu menjadi tenaga kerja menengah dan memiliki kesiapan menghadapi persaingan dunia kerja. Sebagai ujung tombak, guru memiliki peran sangat penting, human resource management, perlu mengkaitkan strategi organisasi dan sumber daya manusianya. Ketika seseorang merasakan kepuasan dalam bekerja, akan berupaya semaksimal mungkin dengan segenap kemampuan yang dimiliki untuk menyelesaikan tugas pekerjaannya. Komunikasi berperan sangat penting. Manusia mempunyai kebutuhan sosial, dapat dipenuhi melalui komunikasi interpersonal. Komunikasi interpersonal berguna memperlancar arus komunikasi, baik antara atasan dan bawahan secara vertikal maupun sesama pekerja secara horizontal. Motivasi kerja memiliki peran penting dan sangat mendasar dalam pelaksanaan tugas-tugas pelayanan publik yang akan mengakselerasi pencapaian tujuan organisasi. Penelitian menggunakan metode pendekatan kuantitatif, deskriptif survey. Populasinya adalah para guru SMK Swasta di Wilayah Jakarta Timur. Deskripsi data meliputi variabel Y (Kepuasan Kerja) sebagai endogenous akhir, variabel X1 (Komunikasi Interpersonal) sebagai exsogenous dan variabel X2 (Motivasi Kerja) sebagai endogenous perantara. Deskripsi masing-masing variabel dinyatakan dalam variabel Y, X.1, dan X.2. Hasil pengujian hipotesis disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh langsung positif komunikasi interpersonal dan motivasi kerja terhadap kepuasan kerja guru dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,767 dan nilai Fhitung (105,214) > Ftabel (3,06). Sehingga komunikasi interpersonal dan motivasi kerja guru berpengaruh langsung positif terhadap kepuasan kerja guru. Komunikasi interpersonal dan motivasi kerja mengakibatkan peningkatan kepuasan kerja guru SMK Swasta di wilayah Kecamatan Pasar Rebo, Jakarta Timur. Kata Kunci: Komunikasi interpersonal, motivasi kerja, peningkatan kepuasan kerja.
