Abstract

***** This study aims to analyze the effect of meal experience on behavioral intention. Data collection for this study began from September 2022 to January 2023 using purposive sampling technique. This study involved respondents who had a meal experience at a five-star hotel restaurant. The instrument to measure meal experience is an instrument constructed by researchers based on the dimensions of food quality, service quality and physical environment consisting of 47 statements. The instrument to measure behavioral intention is an instrument constructed by researchers based on eight behavioral intention indicators consisting of 25 statements. The data that has been collected is processed and analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, namely the simple linear regression test. The results showed that meal experience has a positive effect on behavioral intention. This result shows that the higher the meal experience obtained, the higher the behavioral intention of a person. The coefficient of determination obtained is 34.5%, which means that meal experience affects behavioral intention by 34.5% and the other 65.5% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Thus, providing a good meal experience can be one way to increase behavioral intention.
