Abstract

The objective of the research was to comprehensively evaluate the employee engagement program at one of medical devices company in Indonesia. The locus is at PT. Roche Indonesia, Diagnostics Division. Program evaluation was carried out on capabilities development program, check-ins conversation that matters and live well activities by taking into account the background, objectives, and how the results of these activities affect employee engagement and the business. Program evaluation research which conducted on programs that had been implemented from 2011 to 2019. The model evaluation program approach using to this research was the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, and Product) model, which was developed by Daniel Stufflebeam, which is a systematic model for assessing or evaluating in order to improve the program. This research collected data through documentation studies, observations, and interviews. Data analysis and evaluation shows that the main goal of achieving a top quartile best company has not yet been achieved as a goal of Company Global. In spite of main goal, resercher found that the overall program has achieve a moderate level, where most aspects have been implemented, and company still has area of improvement in order to achieve the goal. The findings lead to the recommendation so then company can achieve the high-scale category, by reformulating the goal or linking the needs of program with productivity data, innovation, talent attraction, retention, then developing a clear and directed strategy, creating an independent organizational structure, preparing a separate budget from other HR needs, consistency of the program due to the absence of regular monitoring and evaluation of the program, and finally is to adjust to the needs of the program to the local country rather then global needs. Keywords: employee engagement, program evaluation, capabilities development, live well, check-ins conversation that matters Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi secara komprehensif program employee engagement di salah satu perusahaan alat kesehatan di Indonesia, yaitu di PT. Roche Indonesia, Divisi Diagnostik. Evaluasi program dilakukan terhadap program pengembangan kapabilitas, check-in conversation that matter dan aktivitas live well dengan memperhatikan latar belakang, tujuan, dan bagaimana hasil dari aktivitas tersebut mempengaruhi employee engagement dan bisnis. Penelitian evaluasi program dilakukan terhadap program-program yang telah dilaksanakan dari tahun 2011 sampai dengan tahun 2019. Model pendekatan evaluasi program yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model CIPP (Context, Input, Process, and Product) yang dikembangkan oleh Daniel Stufflebeam, yaitu model sistematis untuk menilai atau mengevaluasi dalam rangka meningkatkan program. Penelitian ini mengumpulkan data melalui studi dokumentasi, observasi, dan wawancara. Analisis dan evaluasi data menunjukkan bahwa tujuan utama pencapaian top quartile best company belum tercapai sebagaimana tujuan Perusahaan Global. Terlepas dari tujuan utama, peneliti menemukan bahwa keseluruhan program telah mencapai tingkat sedang, di mana sebagian besar aspek telah dilaksanakan, dan perusahaan masih memiliki area perbaikan untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut. Temuan mengarah pada rekomendasi agar perusahaan dapat mencapai kategori skala tinggi, dengan merumuskan kembali tujuan atau menghubungkan kebutuhan program dengan data produktivitas, inovasi, daya tarik bakat, retensi, kemudian mengembangkan strategi yang jelas dan terarah, menciptakan kemandirian struktur organisasi, penyusunan anggaran terpisah dari kebutuhan SDM lainnya, konsistensi program karena tidak adanya monitoring dan evaluasi program secara berkala, dan terakhir adalah menyesuaikan kebutuhan program dengan negara lokal daripada kebutuhan global.
