Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan representasi kepercayaan magis dalam komik digital berjudul Sarimin. Kepercayaan magis adalah pengakuan keberadaan kekuatan yang gaib, impersonal atau samar-samar personal, mistik yang berbahaya, tidak mudah untuk didekati namun mampu untuk disalurkan, dikendalikan, dan diarahkan oleh manusia. Realitas saat ini perkembangan teknologi sudah semakin maju, namun masih ada masyarakat yang mempercayai kepercayaan magis atau lokal di era modern yang sekiranya sudah ditinggalkan. Meskipun perkembangan ilmu dan teknologi sudah berkembang pesat, namun tidak lantas menghilangkan kepercayaan hal yang magis di kehidupan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis semiotika Roland Barthes dan subjek penelitian adalah komik digital berjudul “Sarimin’. Waktu penelitian dilakukan dari bulan April 2021-September 2022. Pengumpulan data primer melalui wawancara dan data sekunder studi pustaka dengan mengkaji sumber utama komik digital Sarimin dan sumber lainnya berupa buku, jurnal, dan kepustakaan lainnya. Hasil Temuan dalam penelitian ini adalah tanda Denotasi dan Konotasi dalam Komik Sarimin dalam tiga episode yaitu Abang Tukang Bakso: keinginan untuk sukses instan menggunakan penglaris bisnis menggunakan Jimat atau Fetish sebagai benda yang memiliki kekuatan gaib. Selanjutnya episode Tenda Biru: Usaha untuk mendapatkan pujaan hati dengan Pelet sebagai mantra cinta. Lalu episode Ular Naga Panjang: melakukan pesugihan dengan siluman ular untuk mendapatkan kekayaan dan kebahagiaan yang diklasifikan sebagai black magic yang bersifat destruktif. Pesan Moral dalam komik digital Sarimin adalah bekerja keras dan pantang menyerah untuk meraih kesuksesan, menghadapi suatu masalah dengan cara yang rasional, sikap jujur ketika berdagang, mengontrol diri ketika marah, menerima dan mengafirmasi diri ketika mengalami penolakan, bertanggung jawab untuk memenuhi kebutuhan keluarga, tidak berputus asa saat kondisi yang sulit, dan memahami fenomena magis lebih kritis sebagai manusia modern. Kata kunci : Komik Digital, Kepercayaan Magis, Representasi Semiotika, Komik “Sarimin” This research aims to describe the representation of magical beliefs in the digital comic titled Sarimin. Magical belief is the recognition of the existence of vague, impersonal or mystical powers that are dangerous, not easy to approach but can be channeled, controlled, and directed by humans. Despite the advancements in technology, there are still people who believe in magical or local beliefs in the modern era, which are supposedly left behind. Although the development of science and technology has grown rapidly, it does not necessarily eliminate the belief in magical things in social life. This research uses a qualitative approach with Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, and the research subject is the digital comic "Sarimin." The research was conducted from April 2021 to September 2022. Primary data collection was through questionnaires, and secondary data collection involved literature studies by examining the main sources of the digital comic Sarimin and other sources such as books, journals, and other literature. The findings of this research are the denotation and connotation signs in the Sarimin comic in three episodes. Firstly, in the episode "Abang Tukang Bakso," the desire for instant success is depicted using fetish objects as magical tools to increase business sales. Secondly, in the episode "Tenda Biru," the effort to win someone's heart is portrayed by using love spells. Lastly, in the episode "Ular Naga Panjang," black magic is used to gain wealth and happiness through performing a pact with a serpent demon, which is classified as a destructive act. The moral message in the Sarimin digital comic is to work hard and never give up in order to achieve success, face problems with rational solutions, be honest in business dealings, control oneself when angry, accept and affirm oneself in the face of rejection, take responsibility for fulfilling family needs, not give up in difficult situations, and understand magical phenomena more critically as modern humans.
