Abstract

Masalah lingkungan terus meningkat sejak 3 tahun terakhir, paling banyak disebabkan oleh aktivitas manusia dan kurangnya rasa tanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan, sehingga menimbulkan masalah lingkungan. Penting untuk memahami faktor-faktor peserta didik sebagai generasi selanjutnya dalam melakukan atau tidaknya responsible environmental behavior. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh intention to act terhadap lingkungan sebagai mediator antara big-five personality dengan responsible environmental behavior peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei yang bersifat kausal dengan path analysis. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 100 peserta didik di SMAN 6 Jakarta pada bulan Desember 2022 hingga Januari 2023 yang dipilih dengan teknik multistage random sampling. Dari hasil path analysis memberikan hasil uji yakni: 1) big-five personality berpengaruh langsung terhadap intention to act terhadap lingkungan secara signifikan (Phi21 = 0,782); 2) intention to act terhadap lingkungan berpengaruh langsung terhadap responsible environmental behavior secara signifikan (Phi32 = 0,760); 3) big-five personality berpengaruh langsung terhadap responsible environmental behavior secara signifikan (Phi31 = 0,657); dan 4) intention to act terhadap lingkungan merupakan variabel mediator yang baik antara big-five personality dan responsible environmental behavior peserta didik (Phi31.2 = 0,594). Oleh sebab itu, dalam upaya membentuk responsible environmental behavior peserta didik, faktor big-five personality dan intention to act perlu dipertimbangkan. Kata Kunci: Big-Five Personality, Intention to Act, Path Analysis, Responsible Environmental Behavior. Environmental problems have increased since last 3 years, mostly caused by human activities and responsibility towards the environment is low, that giving rise to environmental problems. It is important to understand the factors of students as the next generation whether or not they carry out responsible environmental behavior. This study aims to determine the effect of intention to act on the environment as a mediator between the big-five personality and the responsible environmental behavior of students. The method used is a causal survey method with path analysis. The sample for this research was 100 students at SMAN 6 Jakarta from December 2022 to January 2023 who were selected using a multistage random sampling technique. From the results of the path analysis, the test results are: 1) the big-five personality has a direct influence on the intention to act on the environment significantly (Phi21 = 0.782); 2) the intention to act on the environment has a direct effect on responsible environmental behavior significantly (Phi31 = 0.760); 3) the big-five personality has a direct influence on responsible environmental behavior significantly (Phi31 = 0.657); and 4) intention to act on the environment is a good mediator variable between the big-five personality and responsible environmental behavior of students (Phi31.2 = 0.594). Therefore, to make grow the responsible environmental behavior of students, the big-five personality and intention to act factors need to be considered.
