Abstract
Tujuan penelitian serta pengembangan ini adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa Komik Digital berbasis pendekatan whole language untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar terhadap teks fiksi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Research and Development Model 4D, yang memiliki tahap define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Gondangdia 01 Pagi sebanyak 28 siswa dengan rincian 3 siswa untuk uji coba perorangan, 6 siswa untuk uji coba kelompok kecil, dan 28 siswa untuk uji coba lapangan. Data dikumpulkan dengan instrumen penelitian berupa angket terdiri atas lembar validasi dan angket respon siswa serta lembar tes yang selanjutnya dianalisis secara deskriptif. Validasi terdiri dari validasi materi mendapatkan hasil 93,42% dengan kriteria sangat baik, validasi media mendapatkan hasil 88,75% dengan kriteria sangat baik, dan validasi Bahasa mendapatkan 95,83% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Angket respon siswa dan lembar tes diberikan kepada subjek setelah uji coba menggunakan komik sebagai media pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Setelah dihitung dengan n-gain score diperoleh hasil 0,56 yang masuk ke dalam kategori 0,3 ≤ g < 0,7 dengan kriteria “Sedang”. Komik digital yang dikembangkan layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran dan efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman teks fiksi siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar. The purpose of this research and development is to develop learning media Digital Comics based on a whole language approach to improve reading comprehension skills of fiction text fourth grade elementary school. The research method used is the 4D Research and Development Model, the steps are define, design, develop, and disseminate. The sample in this research were 28 students in fourth grade elementary school at SDN Gondangdia 01 Pagi with details of 3 students for one to one test, 6 students for small group test, and 28 students for field test. Data was collected with a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire consisting of validation sheets and student response questionnaires as well as test sheets which were then analyzed descriptively. The validation consisted of material validation getting 93.42% with very good criteria, media validation getting 88.75% with very good criteria, and language validation getting 95.83% with very good criteria. Student response questionnaires and test sheets were given to subjects after trials using comics as Indonesian language learning media. After calculating the n-gain score, the result is 0.56 which is included in the category 0.3 ≤ g < 0.7 with the "moderate" criterion. The digital comics that have been developed are suitable for use as learning media and can be used effectively to improve the reading comprehension skills of fictional texts for fourth grade elementary school students.
