Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tindakan sosial tokoh utama dalam novel Au Pays karya Tahar Ben Jelloun, serta implikasinya pada pembelajaran bahasa Prancis di Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Tindakan sosial dalam penelitian ini berdasarkan pada teori tindakan sosial oleh Max Weber. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi. Analisis dilakukan dengan memaparkan unsur intrinsik novel, namun dalam penelitian ini hanya fokus pada penokohan/tokoh. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan mengidentifikasi dan menginterpretasi data-data berupa kutipan kata-kata, kalimat, dialog serta konteks yang menunjukkan tindakan sosial dalam sumber data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat (30) data dalam novel Au Pays yang menunjukkan tindakan sosial tokoh utama terhadap orang-orang yang berinteraksi dengannya. Dari (30) data tersebut, ditemukan (14) data yang menunjukkan tindakan afektif, kemudian (9) data yang memuat tindakan rasional nilai, selanjutnya (6) data yang menggambarkan tindakan rasional instrumental, dan terdapat (1) data yang mengandung tindakan tradisional. ***** This research aims to gain a comprehension of the social actions of the main character in the novel Au Pays by Tahar Ben Jelloun. The social action in this research based on the theory of social action by Max Weber. This study is a qualitative research with content analysis method. The analysis is accomplished by describing the intrinsic elements of novel, but the focus of this study is only on the characterization. The next step is identifying and interpreting data in the form of citations of words, sentences, dialogues, and contexts that show the social action in the data source. The result of this research showed that there are (30) data findings in the novel Au Pays by Tahar Ben Jelloun which describe the social action. Based on the total amount of findings, (14) of them are affective action, (9) of them are value-rational action, (6) of them are instrumental rational action, and only (1) of them are traditional action.
