Abstract

Kemampuan membaca bahasa asing bukanlah hal yang mudah bagi pemelajar anak tingkat SD. Hal ini dikarenakan aktivitas membaca membuat seseorang harus memahami, mengimajinasikan, mengobservasi, serta mengingat. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan buku khusus membaca bagi mereka. Saat ini, belum ditemukan buku khusus membaca yang disajikan untuk pemelajar BIPA tingkat SD, dan penelitian ini hadir dengan tujuan untuk; 1) mengetahui kebutuhan guru dan siswa dan terhadap buku bahan ajar membaca Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) 1 untuk anak Sekolah Dasar (SD), 2) mengembangkan buku bahan ajar membaca BIPA 1 anak SD berbasis Big Book, 3) mengetahui tanggapan (uji kelayakan) pakar terhadap hasil pengembangan bahan ajar membaca BIPA 1 untuk anak SD berbasis Big Book. Bahan ajar ini dikembangkan untuk memberikan variasi pembelajaran yang menarik dan menyenangkan bagi peserta didik pemula dan memudahkan guru dalam melaksanakan kegiatan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis Penelitian dan Pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model pengembangan 4D yang terdiri dari 4 tahap, yaitu a)define, b)design, c)develop, dan d)disseminate. Penelitian ini dibatasi pada tahap develop, yaitu uji kelayakan. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu observasi langsung yang dilaksanakan di SD internasional Kharisma Bangsa dan kuesioner yang diberikan pada guru, murid, dan pakar. Penelitian pengembangan ini divalidasi oleh tiga orang ahli materi BIPA (Dosen BIPA Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia dan Dosen BIPA Universitas Negeri Semarang), serta satu ahli media ajar (Dosen lulusan Teknologi Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Jakarta). Hasil penelitian pengembangan tahap define menunjukkan bahwa pengajar dan pemelajar BIPA tingkat 1 SD membutuhkan buku khusus membaca yang dapat memotivasi mereka ketika belajar, dan sesuai dengan usia mereka. Pada tahap design didapatkan jawaban bahwa model Big Book dianggap cocok untuk digunakan dalam pengajaran membaca BIPA 1 SD dan dibuat silabus serta format penggunaan buku. Tahap develop berisi realisasi dari tahap desain dan hasil validasi dari pakar. Pakar materi bahan ajar menyatakan bahwa buku membaca BIPA 1 tingkat SD layak digunakan, dan ahli media ajar menyatakan bahwa bahan ajar sangat layak digunakan. Produk pengembangan yang dihasilkan berupa buku bahan ajar berjudul “Dunia Hobi” berukuran A3 yang menghadirkan inovasi bermain sambil belajar. Buku ini dilengkapi dengan gambar berwarna yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran Daring maupun Luring. Evaluasi pada buku dibuat dalam bentuk permainan ular tangga yang dapat dimainkan secara berkelompok. ***** Reading a foreign language smoothly is challenging for students in elementary school. This is because of the fact that reading requires the reader to analyze, imagine, observe, and recall. As a result, they need a specific book to be read to them. The purpose of this research is to 1) determine the needs of teachers and students for teaching materials books for reading Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) 1 for Elementary School (SD) children because there is currently no book specifically for reading that is presented for Elementary Level BIPA Students. 2) develop a book teaching resource for BIPA 1 reading for elementary school students based on Big Book, and 3) gather expert opinions on the results of building BIPA 1 reading teaching resources for elementary school students based on Big Book. This course content was created to help teachers carry out learning activities more easily while also offering newbie students engaging and enjoyable learning possibilities. Using a 4D development paradigm with four steps, design, develop, and disseminate. This research comes under the umbrella of research and development (R&D). This study is just concerned with the measurements at the development stage. The examen instrument used was direct observation conducted at Kharisma Bangsa International Elementary School and questionnaires administered to teachers, students, and experts. This expansion exploration was validated by three validators. Two experts come from BIPA material experts (BIPA Lecturer at the Indonesian University of Education and BIPA Lecturer at Semarang State University), as well as one tutoring media expert (Lecturer who graduated from Educational Technology at the Jakarta State University). The results of the define stage show that both of teachers and students of BIPA 1 primary level need a unique reading book that can motivate them when studying, and are applicable for their age. The Big Book model was considered acceptable to be used for teaching reading BIPA 1 SD at the design stage, and a syllabus and framework for using the book were created. The design stage's realization and the expert validation findings are both included in the develop stage. Teaching media experts said that teaching materials were ideal for usage, while teaching materials experts said that BIPA 1 reading books at the elementary level were adequate. The resulting development product is an A3-sized teaching material book entitled "Dunia Hobi" which presents innovations in playing while learning. This book is equipped with colorful pictures that can be used in both online and offline learning. Evaluation of the book is made in the form of a snake and ladder game that can be played in groups.
