Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran Program Pojok Baca Dalam Meningkatkan Minat Baca Peserta Didik Kelas VIII Di SMP Negeri 73 Jakarta berjalan efektif atau tidak serta untuk mengetahui kendala atau permasalahan yang terjadi pada program pojok baca ini. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, kuesioner, dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII yang berjumlah 288 peserta didik. Teknik penentuan subjek menggunakan Simple Random Sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 58 responden yang mengacu pada pedoman Arikunto. Berdasarkan analisa data yang sudah dilakukan, dapat diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penelitian dari ketiga dimensi memperoleh hasil yang berbeda-beda. Pada dimensi aspek efektivitas memperoleh hasil rata�rata 84,7% dengan kategori baik. Pada dimensi indikator ketercapaian dan pengembangan program pojok baca memperoleh hasil 68,2% dengan kategori kurang baik, dan pada dimensi indikator minat baca memperoleh hasil 57,5% dengan kategori kurang baik sehingga belum maksimal, dikarenakan adanya permasalahan dalam program pojok baca yang menyebabkan adanya kendala. Maka dari itu perlunya membuat program yang lebih menarik dan mengingatkan peserta didik betapa pentingnya membaca sehingga dapat mewujudkan program pojok baca ini menjadi lebih baik. ***** This study aims to find out the description of the Reading Corner Program in Increasing Students' Reading Interest in Class VIII at SMP Negeri 73 Jakarta whether it is running effectively or not and to find out the obstacles or problems that occur in this reading corner program. The method used in this research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and literature study. The population in this study were class VIII students, totaling 288 students. Subject technique using Simple Random Sampling. The sample in this study were 58 respondents who referred to Arikunto's guidelines. Based on the data analysis that has been carried out, it is concluded that the research from the three dimensions obtained different results. On the dimensions of the aspect of effectiveness obtained an average result of 84.7% in the good category. On the indicator dimension of achievement and development of the reading corner program, the result is 68.2% in the not good category, and on the dimension of the reading interest indicator, the result is 57.5% in the not good category so it is not optimal, due to problems in the program's reading corner which causes constraint. Therefore, it is necessary to make programs more interesting and remind students how important it is to read so that this reading corner program can be made better.
