Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meneliti dan membahas tentang pengaruh penerapan Ice Breaking terhadap motivasi belajar IPS Siswa kelas VIII SMPN 232 Jakarta. Penerapan Ice Breaking merupakan salah satu upaya dalam menciptakan suasana belajar yang mendukung di dalam kelas agar siswa menjadi aktif dalam belajar serta mengembangkan diri sehingga motivasi belajar dapat meningkat. Dengan penerapan Ice Breaking, maka diharapkan siswa dapat merasa mata pelajaran IPS sebagai mata pelajaran yang menyenangkan yang dapat meningkatkan semangat dan konsentrasi belajar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif quasi experimental dengan total sampel 70 siswa kelas VIII SMPN 232 Jakarta. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pengaruh Ice Breaking terhadap motivasi belajar di SMPN 232 Jakarta diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa penerapan Ice Breaking dalam pembelajaran IPS dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar. ***** The purpose of this study was to examine and discuss the effect of applying Ice Breaking on social studies learning motivation for 8th graders of SMPN 232 Jakarta. The application of Ice Breaking is one of the efforts to create a supportive learning atmosphere in the classroom so that students become active in learning and developing themselves so that learning motivation can increase. With the application of Ice Breaking, it is hoped that students can feel social studies subjects as fun subjects that can increase enthusiasm and concentration in learning. This research is a quasi-experimental quantitative study with a total sample of 70 class VIII students of SMPN 232 Jakarta. Based on the research results of the effect of Ice Breaking on learning motivation at SMPN 232 Jakarta, it can be concluded that the application of Ice Breaking in social studies learning can increase learning motivation.
