Abstract

*ABSTRAK* Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dan performa atlet tinju amatir pada tim tinju pelatda Jawa Barat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kuantitatif dengan teknnik bivariat (korelasi sederhana). Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner atau angket kepada responden yaitu atlet tinju pelatda Jawa Barat. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 20 atlet. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 15 atlet yang diambil dengan cara purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan analisis data menggunakan uji validitas dan reliabilitas, Uji deskriptif data, uji korelasi, dan uji koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak adanya pengaruh yang signifikan antara variabel kecerdasan emosional terhadap performat atlet. Sehubungan denganr umusan masalah pada penelitian ini, hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan tingkat korelasi yang rendah antara kecerdasan emosional dengan performa atlet tinju pelatda Jawa Barat ditunjukkan dengan perolehan nilai koefisien korelasi yaitu sebesar 0,377 yang tergolong kategori tingkat korelasi rendah. Tingkat korelasi yang rendah ini diperkuat dengan hasil pengujian koefisien determinasi yaitu diperoleh nilai sebesar 0,076 atau 7,6%. Hal ini diartikan sebagai kecerdasan emosional memberikan pengaruh sebesar 7,6% terhadap performa atlet tinju pelatda Jawa Barat, sementara 92,4% dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor yang tidak diteliti pada penelitian ini. *ABSTRAK* This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and the performance of amateur boxing athletes on the West Java regional boxing team. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method with bivariate techniques (simple correlation). Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to respondents, namely West Java regional boxing athletes. The population in this study amounted to 20 athletes. The sample in this study were 15 athletes who were taken purposively sampling . Data collection uses observation and data analysis uses validity and reliability tests, data descriptive tests, correlation tests, and coefficient of determination tests. The results showed that there was no significant effect between emotional intelligence variables on athlete performance. In connection with the formulation of the problem in this study, the results of the study also showed a low level of correlation between emotional intelligence and the performance of West Java regional boxing athletes as indicated by the acquisition of a correlation coefficient value of 0.377 which is classified as a low correlation level category. This low level of correlation is reinforced by the results of the determination coefficient test, which is a value of 0.076 or 7.6%. This is interpreted as emotional intelligence giving an influence of 7.6% on the performance of West Java regional boxing athletes, while 92.4% is influenced by factors not examined in this study.
