Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap reprensentasi politik perempuan Indonesia di masa awal kemerdekaan dalam majalah Dunia Wanita dari tahun 1949 sampai dengan 1959. Tahun 1949 dipilih menjadi batasan awal karena merupakan tahun pertama kali diterbitkannya majalah Dunia Wanita. Tahun 1959 dipilih menjadi batasan akhir karena merupakan tahun terakhir sebelum majalah Dunia Wanita mengalami perubahan orientasi politik di masa demokrasi terpimpin. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode historis yang terdiri dari lima tahapan, yaitu Pemilihan Topik, Heuristik, Verifikasi, Interpretasi, dan Historiografi. Sumber yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah majalah Dunia Wanita edisi tahun 1949-1959 sebagai sumber primer. Penelitian ini juga didukung oleh sumber sekunder berupa buku fisik dan elektronik yang relevan dengan sejarah perempuan masa awal kemerdekaan serta jurnal hasil penelitian terdahulu. Dari penelitian ini, diperoleh hasil penelitian bahwa majalah Dunia Wanita dijadikan sebagai wadah bagi representasi suara perempuan dalam bidang politik. Dunia Wanita menyuarakan perjuangan hak-hak politik perempuan melalui rubrik dan artikel yang diterbitkan didalamnya. Hak-hak politik perempuan yang direpresentasikan dalam majalah Dunia Wanita meliputi hak memilih dan dipilih dalam pemilihan umum, hak untuk berpartisipasi aktif dalam lembaga pemerintahan, serta hak untuk dilibatkan dalam pembuatan kebijakan pemerintah. Dunia Wanita juga memberikan dorongan untuk kaum perempuan agar peduli terhadap perkembangan politik di Indonesia. Kata Kunci: Representasi, Perempuan, Politik, Majalah Dunia Wanita This study aims to reveal the political representation of Indonesian women in the early days of independence in Dunia Wanita magazine from 1949 to 1959. 1949 was chosen as the starting point because it was the first year that Dunia Wanita magazine was published. 1959 was chosen as the final deadline because it was the last year before Dunia Wanita magazine experienced a change in political orientation during the guided democracy period. The research method used in this study is the historical method which consists of five stages, namely Topic Selection, Heuristics, Verification, Interpretation, and Historiography. The source used in this study was the 1949-1959 edition of Dunia Wanita magazine as the primary source. This research is also supported by secondary sources in the form of physical and electronic books that are relevant to the history of women in the early days of independence and journals from previous research. From this research, the research results were obtained that Dunia Wanita magazine was used as a forum for the representation of women's voices in the political field. Dunia Wanita voices the struggle for women's political rights through the rubrics and articles published therein. Women's political rights represented in Dunia Wanita magazine include the right to vote and be elected in general elections, the right to participate actively in government institutions, and the right to be involved in making government policies. Dunia Wanita also provides encouragement for women to care about political developments in Indonesia. Keywords:Women, Representation, Politics, Dunia Wanita Magazine
