Abstract

Indonesia memiliki ciri khas dan budaya adat istiadat yang beragam di setiap daerahnya termasuk ciri khas dan budaya upacata adat dalam proses perkawinan. Kabupaten Cilacap menjadi salah satu wilayah yang masih melaksanakan upacara perkawinan adat Solo. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk memperluas atau memperdalam wawasan mengenai adat Solo terlebih adat dalam perkawinan. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasilnya terdapat 13 informan dan 10 diantaranya merupakan pasangan pengantin menggunakan adat perkawinan Solo di Cilacap. Hasil dari wawancara mengenai persepsi masyarakat terhadap perkawinan adat Solo menyatakan bahwa saat melangsungkan perkawinan menggunakan rangkaian acara keseluruhan maupun sebagian rangkaian saja tidak mengurangi makna dan kesakralan dari upacara adat tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara juga diketahui terdapat satu prosesi yang ditambahkan untuk melaksanakan upacara adat perkawinan Solo menggunakan tradisi Begalan. ***** Indonesia has diverse characteristics and cultural customs in each region, including the characteristics and culture of traditional ceremonies in the marriage process. Cilacap Regency is one of the areas that still carries out the Solo traditional marriage ceremony. The purpose of this research is to broaden or deepen insight into Solo customs, especially customs in marriage. This research method uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The results were 13 informants and 10 of them were couples using Solo marriage customs in Cilacap. The results of the interviews regarding people's perceptions of Solo traditional marriage stated that when holding a marriage using the whole series of events or only part of the series did not reduce the meaning and sacredness of the traditional ceremony. Based on the results of the interviews, it is also known that there is one procession added to carry out the Solo traditional marriage ceremony using the Begalan tradition.
