Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tingkat literasi sains Indonesia yang rendah menurut skor PISA. Rendahnya kemampuan literasi kimia karena model pembelajaran yang diterapkan kurang efektif dan bervariatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model process oriented guided inquiry learning (POGIL) terhadap literasi kimia siswa pada topik hidrolisis garam. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei di kelas XI SMAN 85 Jakarta. Pada desain quasi experimental, dua kelas sampel diacak dengan metode flipping coin untuk dijadikan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen adalah XI MIPA 1 dan kelas kontrol adalah XI MIPA 3 dengan jumlah 36 siswa pada setiap kelas. Tes literasi kimia menggunakan tes pilihan ganda. Data kemudian dianalisis dengan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa POGIL berpengaruh positif terhadap literasi kimia siswa pada topik hidrolisis garam kelas XI. Sehingga, dapat dikatakan POGIL efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi kimia siswa. Berdasarkan temuan ini, guru direkomendasikan untuk menerapkan model POGIL dalam upaya peningkatan literasi kimia siswa pada topik kimia lainnya. Kata Kunci: POGIL, Literasi Kimia, Hidrolisis Garam. *** This research is motivated by Indonesia's low level of scientific literacy according to the PISA score. The low ability of chemical literacy is because the learning model that is applied is less effective and varied. This study aims to determine the effect of the process oriented guided inquiry learning (POGIL) model on students' chemical literacy on the topic of salt hydrolysis. This research was conducted in May in class XI SMAN 85 Jakarta. In a quasi-experimental design, two sample classes were randomized using the flipping coin method to serve as the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class is XI MIPA 1 and the control class is XI MIPA 3 with a total of 36 students in each class. The chemical literacy test used a multiple choice test. The data was then analyzed by t-test. The results showed that POGIL had a positive effect on students' chemical literacy on the topic of salt hydrolysis for class XI. Thus, it can be said that POGIL is effective in increasing students' chemical literacy. Based on these findings, teachers are recommended to apply the POGIL model in an effort to increase students' chemical literacy on other chemistry topics.
