Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui persepsi petani tentang konservasi tanah, partisipasi petani dalam konservasi tanah, dan hubungan antara persepsi dan partisipasi petani dalam konservasi tanah. Adapun lokasi penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Ciloto, Kecamatan Cipanas, Kabupaten Cianjur, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Sedangkan, waktu penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2019 sampai dengan bulan Juli 2019. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh petani sayuran yang ada di Desa Ciloto yaitu berjumlah 352 petani. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampel acak sederhana, dan didapatkan 78 petani. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan frekuensi dan persentase, serta uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat persepsi petani tentang konservasi tanah termasuk dalam kategori sedang yaitu sebesar 51,3%, partisipasi petani dalam konservasi tanah termasuk dalam kategori sedang yaitu sebesar 50,0%. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis yang dilakukan, dapat diketahui bahwa ada hubungan antara persepsi dan partisipasi petani dalam konservasi tanah di Desa Ciloto, Kecamatan Cipanas, Kabupaten Cianjur, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Koefisien korelasi yaitu sebesar 0,783, dan termasuk dalam kategori kuat. Nilai koefisien korelasi bersifat positif, sehingga semakin tinggi persepsi petani tentang konservasi tanah, maka partisipasi petani dalam konservasi tanah juga akan tinggi, begitu pula sebaliknya. Selain itu, koefisien determinasi menunjukkan nilai sebesar 61,3%, yang berarti bahwa persepsi petani tentang konservasi tanah memberikan kontribusi terhadap partisipasi dalam konservasi tanah sebesar 61,3%, dan 38,7% ditentukan oleh variabel lain. Kegiatan pelatihan dan penyuluhan mengenai konservasi tanah diperlukan untuk memperbaiki dan meningkatkan persepsi petani, dengan demikian partisipasinya juga akan meningkat. This research is aimed to know the perception of farmers towards land conservation, the participation of farmers in land conservation, and relationship between perception and participation of farmers in land conservation. This research was conducted in Ciloto Village, Cipanas District, Cianjur Regency, West Java Province. Meanwhile, the time of the research was conducted in May 2019 until July 2019. The method used in this research was quantitative descriptive. The population of this research is all vegetable farmers in the village of Ciloto, amounting to 352 farmers. Sampling using a simple random sampling technique and obtained 78 farmers. Technical analysis of data in this research using frequency and percentage, and Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results showed the level of farmers perceptions of land conservation included in the medium category of 51.3%, participations in land conservation included in the medium category of 50.0%. Based on the hypothesis testing conducted, it can be known that there is a relationship between perceptions and participation of farmers in land conservation in Ciloto Village, Cipanas District, Cianjur Regency, West Java Province. The correlation coefficient is 0.783, which is included in the strong category. The correlation coefficient is positive, so the higher the farmer's perception of land conservation, the farmer's participation in land conservation will also be high, and vice versa. In addition, the coefficient of determination shows a value of 61,3%, which means that farmers' perceptions of land conservation contribute to participation in land conservation by 61,3%, and the remaining 38,7% is determined by other variables. Training and counseling activities regarding land conservation are needed to correct and improve farmers' perceptions, so participation will also increase.
