Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran emotional contagion terhadap self-esteem dan hubungan parasosial pada penggemar idola grup asal Korea Selatan, BTS, yang berada di masa dewasa awal. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 296 orang pada usia 18-40 tahun yang merupakan penggemar dari BTS. Metode penelitian yang digunakan berupa metode kuantitatif dengan instrumen dalam bentuk kuesioner. Analisa data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji path analysis menggunakan JASP. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (RSES) versi Indonesia, Emotional Contagion Scale dan Parasocial Interaction Scale. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa emotional contagion secara signifikan dapat memediasi self-esteem dan hubungan parasosial. Kata kunci: Hubungan Parasosial, Self-esteem, Emotional Contagion, Dewasa Awal Penggemar BTS This study aims to determine the role of emotional contagion as mediator on self-esteem and parasocial relationships in early adult fans of the South Korean idol group, BTS. The sample in this study amounted to 296 people at the age of 18-40 years who are fans of BTS. The research method used is quantitative method with instruments in the form of questionnaire. The data analysis used in this study is path analysis using JASP. This study used the Indonesian version of the Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (RSES) instrument, the Emotional Contagion Scale, and the Parasocial Interaction Scale. The results of this study found that emotional contagion can significantly mediate self-esteem and parasocial relationships.
