Abstract

***** The lack of students understanding in the subject of concrete structures 2 results in suboptimal learning outcomes. Utilizing an appropriate learning model that aligns with the materials characteristics is beneficial for significantly enchancing students learning outcomes. The study aims to determine the difference of learning outcomes of problem based learning in comparison to conventional learning in the subject of concrete structures 2 in the Building Engineering Education Study Program UNJ. This research is a quantitative study using an ex-post facto method. The sample of this study were the Bachelor of Engineering Education study program who had implemented concrete structures 2 courses in the 108th and 110th semesters, a total of 105 students who were taken using probability random sampling techniques. The results of this study are: (1) learning using the conventional learning is better than the problem based learning, with an average score of 63,85 for the conventional learning and an average score of 63,32 for the problem based learning (2) there is no difference of learning outcomes of problem based learning in comparison to conventional learning, as indicated by the Mann Whitney U hypothesis test with a calculates Sig. value of 0,561> 0,05.
