Abstract
Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan orientasi mobilitas melalui metode pembelajaran kontekstual yang berulang khususnya dalam menentukan konsep arah, mental map, self protection dan tehnik tongkat pada dua orang peserta didik totally blind kelas VII SLB-A Pembina Tingkat Nasional Jakarta. Penelitian dengan desain penelitian Kemmis dan McTaggart dilaksanakan sebanyak 2 siklus, terdiri atas empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Sumber data diperoleh melalui data kualitatif berupa observasi kemampuan peserta didik, wawancara dan dokumentasi serta data kuantitatif berupa hasil tes kinerja peserta didik dalam praktik orientasi dan mobilitas. Adapun hasil penelitian adalah bahwa metode kontekstual yang dilakukan secara berulang dan diawali dengan membaca denah timbul di lingkungan sekolah mampu meningkatkan kemampuan orientasi mobilitas peserta didik dengan hambatan penglihatan dalam menentukan konsep arah, mental map, self protection dan tehnik tongkat dengan baik. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Orientasi Mobilitas, Metode Kontekstual. ***** This classroom action research aims to improve orientation and mobility abilities through repeated contextual learning methods, especially in determining the concept of direction, mental maps, self-protection, and stick techniques in two students of class VII of SLB-A Pembina Tingkat Nasional Jakarta. The research by Kemmis and McTaggart's research design was carried out in 2 cycles, consisting of four stages; planning, action, observation and reflection. Sources of data were obtained through qualitative data in the form of observations of students' abilities, interviews and documentation as well as quantitative data in the form of student performance test results in orientation and mobility practices. The results are that the contextual method carried out repeatedly and begins with reading embossed plans in the school environment can improve the orientation and mobility abilities of students with visual impairments in determining the concept of direction, mental maps, self-protection, and stick techniques well.
