Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan menggambarkan, mengungkapkan dan menjelaskan tiga hal yaitu kompetensi kepribadian Kepala Sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan, kompetensi kewirausahaan Kepala Sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan, dan upaya kepala sekolah dalam menghadapi hambatan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di SMK Kesatuan Jakarta Barat. Adapun metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode observasi (pengamatan), wawancara (interview), dan dokumentasi. Metode analisis data bersifat induktif dengan langkah persiapan reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi Kepala Sekolah SMK Kesatuan meliputi: (a) kompetensi kepribadian selalu belajar untuk mengembangkan diri sebagai seorang pemimpin yang betul-betul memiliki bakat dan minat, menunjukkan sikap ramah sebagai pemimpin. (b) Kompetensi kewirausahaan selalu berupaya menciptakan pembaharuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan baik pada kurikulum pendidikan maupun pada lingkungan dan bangunan madrasah. (c) Upaya dalam mengatasi hambatan peningkatkan Mutu pendidikan dengan membuat agenda rapat internal Sekolah sehingga sarana prasarana yang tidak memadai bisa dipergunakan seoptimal mungkin. This research was conducted with the aim of describing, expressing and explaining three things, namely the competence of the principal in improving the quality of education and the efforts of the principal in dealing with the obstacles of the principal in improving the quality of education at the West Jakarta Unitary Vocational School. The data collection method used is the method of observation (observation), interviews (interviews), and documentation. The method of data analysis is inductive with the preparation steps of data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that (1) the competency of the Unitary Vocational School Principal includes: (a) personality competence to always learn to develop oneself as a leader who truly has talents and interests, shows a friendly attitude as a leader. (b) Managerial competence is responsible for carrying out school administration with all its substance. (c) Entrepreneurial competence always seeks to create innovations to improve the quality of education both in the educational curriculum and in the madrasah environment and buildings. (d) Supervision competence acts as a supervisor, has responsibility in monitoring, fostering and improving the quality of the teaching and learning process. (e) The social competence of the Unitary Vocational School Principal can be seen from his participation in every community activity. (2) Efforts to overcome obstacles to improving the quality of education by making an agenda for internal school meetings so that inadequate infrastructure can be used as optimally as possible.
