Abstract

*ABSTRAK* -------- Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) dengan teknik think pair share terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode quasi-experiment dengan desain post-test only control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik cluster random sampling. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII B dan VIII F SMP Negeri 2 Jakarta. Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis diukur menggunakan instrumen tes yaitu 7 soal uraian pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar yang telah valid dan reliabel. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t’ dengan taraf signifikansi α=0,05, didapat bahwa 〖t'〗_hitung=3,020773 dan 〖t'〗_tabel=0,632288 sehingga 〖t'〗_hitung>〖t'〗_tabel, maka H_0 ditolak yang berarti rata-rata kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa pada kelas kontrol. Nilai Cohen’s effect size yang diperoleh adalah 0,85893 yang termasuk pada kategori besar dengan persentase 79%. Berdasarkan hasil yang telah didapatkan, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari penerapan model pembelajaran contextual teaching and learning dengan teknik think pair share terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SMP Negeri 2 Jakarta. *ABSTRACT* ---------- This study aims to determine the effect of CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) model with think pair share technique on students' mathematical concept understanding ability. The method used is quasi-experiment method with post-test only control group design. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling technique. The samples in this study were students of class VIII B and VIII F SMP Negeri 2 Jakarta. The ability to understand mathematical concepts is measured using a test instrument, that included 7 description questions on flat-sided space building material that has been valid and reliable. The results of hypothesis testing using t’-test with a significance level of α=0,05 , obtained that 〖t'〗_value=3,020773 and 〖t'〗_table=0,632288 so that 〖t'〗_value>〖t'〗_table, then H_0 is rejected which means that the average ability to understand mathematical concepts of students in the experimental class is higher than students in the control class. Value of Cohen's effect size obtained is 0.85893 which is included in the large category with a percentage of 79%. Based on the results that have been obtained, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the application of contextual teaching and learning model with think pair share technique on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of SMP Negeri 2 Jakarta students.
