Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis tindak ilokusi sebagai alat pembela dalam wawancara Ted Bundy dengan dokter Dobson sebelum akhir hayatnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi wawancara yang menggunakan tindak ilokusi sebagai alat pembela atas tindak kejahatan Bundy dan menganalisis tindak ilokusinya. Pendekatan pragmatis digunakan dalam penelitian ini dan mengaplikasikan tindak ilokusi oleh Searle 1979. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode penelitian deskriptif analitik interpretatif. Data penelitian diambil dari transkrip wawancara terakhir Ted Bundy dengan dokter Dobson dan dikembangkan dari jawaban Ted Bundy yaitu kata, kalimat, dan ucapan yang mengandung tindak ilokusi. Terdapat 43 data yang ditemukan dalam data penelitian. Temuan mengungkapkan bahwa dari 5 tindak ilokusi oleh Searle, tindakan ekspresif dan representatif merupakan yang paling dominan diucapkan Ted Bundy sebagai alat pembela. Dengan menggunakan tindakan ekspresif dan representatif Ted Bundy untuk mengurangi hukumannya. Tindakan ekspresif ditunjukkan Bundy dengan mengutarakan penyesalan dan Ikhlas akan takdirnya, sedangkan Tindakan representative ditunjukkan Bundy dengan mengutarakan fakta dia terpengaruh oleh pornografi dan menjadikan Bundy seorang pembunuh berantai. ***** This study analyzes illocutionary acts as a justifier tool in Ted Bundy last interview with Dr. Dobson prior to his death execution. The objectives of this study are to identify the illocutionary acts that used as a justifier of Ted Bundy’s murder in the interview and to elaborate also analyzes the illocutionary acts that is used to justifier Bundy’s murder. This study uses pragmatic approach with Searle (1979) illocutionary acts theory. This study is a qualitative approach with descriptive analytical interpretative method. The data of the study were taken from Ted Bundy last interview transcript and taken from Bundy’s utterances in the speech such as words, phrases, or utterances that contains illocutionary act. There are 43 data has been found from the interview. The findings revealed from 5 category of illocutionary acts by Searle, expressive and representative is the most used by Ted Bundy as a justifier tools. With the use of expressive act and representative act, Bundy expect lessen punishment. The use of expressive act shown by the utterance of remorse and resigned while the use of representative act shown by the utterance of fact of how he was influenced by pornography and resulted Bundy to become a serial killer.
