Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan parasosial yang terungkap dalam foto 'boyfriendable' anggota boy group K-Pop SEVENTEEN, NCT, dan THE BOYZ. Metode deskriptif analitis digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengungkap unsur-unsur dalam foto 'boyfriendable' tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis semotik Roland Barthes untuk menganalisis gambar dan teori interaksi parasosial Horton dan Wohl untuk menganalisis hubungan parasosial melalui interaksi simbolik. Temuan mengungkapkan bahwa hubungan parasosial yang ditunjukkan dalam gambar melalui unsur-unsur seperti fashion, bahasa, dan ruang dari idola yang terdiri dari hubungan parasosial. Pada saat yang sama, hubungan parasosial juga ditunjukkan melalui interaksi simbolik dari sisi penggemar, yaitu komentar di Instagram dan Twitter. Dari temuan tersebut, terungkap bahwa foto 'boyfriendable' SEVENTEEN, NCT, dan THE BOYZ terdiri dari hubungan parasosial antara penggemar dan idola. Kata kunci: parasocial relationship, semiotic analysis, K-Pop, SEVENTEEN, NCT, THE BOYZ ***** This research aims to analyze the parasocial relationship that is revealed in the 'boyfriendable' pictures of the members of K-Pop boy groups SEVENTEEN, NCT, and THE BOYZ. Descriptive analytical method is used in this study to reveal the elements in those 'boyfriendable' pictures. This study uses Roland Barthes' semotic analysis to analyze the pictures and Horton and Wohl's parasocial interaction theory to analyze the parasocial relationship through the symbolic interaction. The findings reveal that parasocial relationship is shown in the pictures through the elements, such as fashion, language, and space from the idols that consist parasocial relationship. At the same time, parasocial relationship is also shown through the symbolic interaction from the fans' side, which is the comments on Instagram and Twitter. From the findings, it reveals that the 'boyfriendable' pictures of SEVENTEEN, NCT, and THE BOYZ consist of a parasocial relationship between fans and the idols.
