Abstract

Widya Agustiany Putri. 2023. Citra dan Representasi Tokoh Drupadi dalam Novel Drupadi Karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Skripsi. Program Studi Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian ini menganalisis mengenai citra dan representasi tokoh Drupadi yang terdapat dalam novel Drupadi karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut maka penelitian ini menggunakan tiga pendekatan yaitu citra perempuan dari Sugihastuti, teori representasi Stuart Hall, dan pendekatan feminisme multikultural dari Gadis Arivia. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa citra Drupadi terbagi menjadi citra diri dan citra sosial yang masing-masing menyatakan bahwa Drupadi memiliki citraan fisik dan citraan psikis, serta citraan perempuan dalam keluarga dan citraan dalam masyarakat. Citraan fisik Drupadi ialah seorang perempuan yang didewikan dnegan kecantikan tiada tara, memiliki rambut panjang yang menjuntai hingga ke lantai, memiliki sepasang mata cemerlang cantik seperti permata, merupakan perempuan dewasa, memiliki kulit putih, serta tubuhnya harum. Citraan psikis Drupadi digambarkan sebagai perempuan yang memiliki pergolakan batin, ambisius, dengan karakter dinamis yang menggambarkan bahwa dirinya berkembang dari anak perempuan menjadi seorang istri. Citraan Drupadi dalam keluarga digambarkan sebagai anak dari Raja Drupada, kakak dari Drestajumena, istri Pandawa lima, dan menantu Dewi Kunti. Citraan masyarakat Drupadi yaitu perempuan yang didewikan, seorang putri raja Pancala yang kemudian menjadi ratu dari Indraprastha, dan seorang perempuan dengan citraan sempurna yang dielu-elukan masyarakat. Sedangkan untuk representasi Drupadi yang ditinjau dengan pendekatan feminisme multikultural menghasilkan dua aspek yaitu Drupadi sebagai Putri Raja Pancala dan Drupadi sebagai perempuan poliandri bersuamikan Pandawa lima. This research analyzes the image and representation of the character Drupadi in the novel Drupadi by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. To achieve this goal, this research uses three approaches, namely the image of women from Sugihastuti, representation theory from Stuart Hall, and the multicultural feminism approach from Girl Arivia. The results of this research show that Draupadi's image is divided into self-image and social image, each of which states that Draupadi has a physical image and a psychological image, as well as an image of women in the family and an image in society. The physical image of Draupadi is a woman who is a goddess with incomparable beauty, has long hair that hangs down to the floor, has a pair of beautiful bright eyes like jewels, is a mature woman, has white skin, and her body smells good. Draupadi's psychological image is described as a woman who has inner turmoil, desires, with a dynamic character that depicts her developing from a daughter to a wife. The image of Draupadi in the family is described as the daughter of King Drupada, older sister of Drestajumena, wife of the five Pandavas, and daughter-in-law of Goddess Kunti. The public image of Draupadi is a woman who is a goddess, a daughter of the king of Pancala who later became the queen of Indraprastha, and a woman with a perfect image who is hailed by the community. Meanwhile, the representation of Draupadi is reviewed using the multicultural feminism approach that gave birth to two aspects, namely Draupadi as the daughter of King Pancala and Draupadi as a polyandrous woman married to five Pandavas.
