Abstract
ABSTRACT: This research aims to determine the effecs of pet attachment on psychological well-being in young adult single women who own pet in Jabodetabek. The research methodology employed a quantitative approach with simple linear regression analysis for hypothesis testing. The sample consisted of 516 single women in the early adult stage (20-40 years old) who owned cats or dogs as pets in the Jabodetabek area. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling technique. Pet attachment was measured using the Lexington Attachment to Pet Scale (LAPS) instrument developed by Johnson, et al., (1992) and adapted by Isabela Imani (2020), while psychological well-being was measured using Ryff's Psychological Well-Being Scale (RPWB) 42-item version developed by Ryff & Keyes (1995). The results of this study showed a p-value of 0.000 and an R square of 0.056, indicating a 5.6% influence of pet attachment on psychological well-being in early adult single women who own pets in the Jabodetabek area.
