Abstract

Polisemi adalah istilah yang dapat memiliki banyak arti tergantung pada konteksnya. Penelitian ini mengkaji kata-kata polisemi yang ditemukan dalam lirik lagu dari Cigarettes After Sex. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis polisemi yang paling dominan digunakan dalam lirik lagu Cigarettes After Sex dan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis polisemi yang digunakan dalam lirik lagu Cigarettes After Sex. Data diambil dari lirik lagu Cigarettes After Sex dari ketiga album mereka yaitu "EP.I", "Cigarettes After Sex", dan "Cry". Ada 20 lagu dari ketiga album yang digunakan sebagai data. Metode penelitian kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara mendengarkan lagu, mengidentifikasi, dan menggarisbawahi lirik lagu. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis teks dengan cara reduksi data, display data, penarikan kesimpulan, dan verifikasi. Tahapan dalam analisis data adalah mengidentifikasi dan mengkategorikan kata-kata polisemi yang ada dalam lirik lagu dari album Cigarettes After Sex untuk menentukan jenis polisemi yang paling dominan. Dari data yang diperoleh, terdapat 29 kata polisemi. Ada 11 figure/ground reversal, 9 container/contained alternation, 5 alternation involving location, 2 product/producer alternation, 1 plant/food alternation, dan 1 alternations between containers and contained. Jenis polisemi yang paling dominan dari lirik lagu dalam album Cigarettes After Sex adalah figure or ground reversal karena telah ditemukan 11 kata. ***** Polysemy is a term that may possess multiple meanings depending on the context. This study examines polysemy words found in Cigarettes After Sex’s song lyrics. The purpose of this research was to identify the most dominant types of polysemy used in Cigarettes After Sex’s song lyrics and to identify the types of polysemy used in the song lyrics in Cigarettes After Sex's album. The data was taken from Cigarettes After Sex's song lyrics from their three albums, "EP.I", "Cigarettes After Sex", and "Cry". There were 20 songs on all three albums used as data. The qualitative research method was used in this study. The data was collected by listening, identifying, and underlining song lyrics. The technique of analyzing the data used text analysis by data reduction, data display, drawing, and verifying conclusions. The step in data analysis was to identify and categorize polysemy words that exist in song lyrics from Cigarettes After Sex's album in order to determine the prominent types of polysemy. From the data obtained, there were 29 polysemy words. There were 11 figure or ground reversal, 9 container or contained alternation, 5 alternation involving location, 2 product or producer alternation, 1 plant or food alternation, and 1 alternations between containers and contained. The most dominant type of polysemy from the song lyrics in Cigarettes After Sex album is figure or ground reversal with 11 words found.
