Abstract

ABSTRAK Muhammad Rafi Ilman 2023, Efek Konformitas Dalam Masyarakat Jepang. Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang. Makalah ini dilatarbelakangi konformitas di masyarakat Jepang. Membahas konformitas di Jepang tidak hanya menarik dan bernilai dalam dirinya sendiri, tetapi juga merupakan isu representatif yang dapat memberi tahu kita banyak hal tentang psikologi sosial Jepang. Daripada memberikan gambaran yang dangkal dari semua psikologi sosial, lebih menguntungkan untuk membahas, secara rinci, topik konformitas sebagai contoh keadaan psikologi sosial di Jepang saat ini. Penulisan makalah ini bertujuan untuk membahas konformitas yang ada di negara Jepang, serta menggali lebih dalam efek konformitas yang terdapat pada kehidupan masyarakat Jepang. Teori berdasarkan eksperimen Sherif, Asch, dan Milgram. Selain dari itu, jenis konformitas terdiri dari compliance dan internalization/acceptance. Makalah ini mengambil data dari internet dan jurnal online. Dari data yang terkumpul, diketahui jenis konformitas yang ada di Jepang lebih kepada internalization/acceptance, serta efek yang ditimbulkan dari konformitas lebih cenderung negatif untuk generasi muda, dan positif untuk generasi tua. Generasi muda berada pada usia dimana mereka mencoba hal-hal baru dalam rangka mencari jati diri mereka. Konformitas menjadi suatu halangan untuk mereka mengekspresikan diri mereka yang sebenarnya. Generasi muda masih ingin mengekplorasi kesempatan-kesempatan yang ada, dan belum siap untuk menjadi “sama”. Di sisi lain, konformitas cenderung memberi efek yang positif untuk generasi tua, dimana kepribadian mereka telah matang dan siap untuk menjadi anggota masyarakat yang patuh dan mengabdi pada negara. Faculty of Languages and Arts, Japanese Language Education Study Program. This paper is based on conformity in Japanese society. Discussing conformity in Japan is not only interesting and valuable in itself, but it is also a representative issue that can tell us a lot about Japanese social psychology, as well as provide a picture of the current state of social psychology in Japan. This paper aims to discuss conformity in Japan, and to explore the effects of conformity on the lives of Japanese people. The theory is based on the experiments of Sherif, Asch, and Milgram. Apart from that, the types of conformity consist of compliance and internalization/acceptance. This paper takes data from the internet and online journals. From the data collected, it is known that the type of conformity that exists in Japan is more internalization/acceptance, and the effects of conformity are more likely to be negative for the younger generation, and positive for the older generation. The younger generation is at an age where they try new things in order to find their identity. Conformity becomes an obstacle for them to express their true selves. Young people still want to explore opportunities, and are not ready to be "the same". On the other hand, conformity tends to have a positive effect on the older generation, where their personalities have matured and they are ready to become obedient members of society and serve the country.
