Abstract

Penelitian ini betujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan gaya kepemimpinan guru mata pelajaran IPS di kelas dengan motivasi belajar soswa SMP Negeri 104 Jakarta Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode korelasional dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yang diperoleh sebanyak 167 siswa dari keseluruhan populasi 272 siswa. Sampel ini diambil dari kelas VII dan kelas VIII bagi siswa yang diajar oleh guru mata pelajaran IPS yang diteliti. Data dianalisis dengan keofisien korelasi product moment untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada hubungan antara gaya kepemimpinan guru mata pelajaran IPS di kelas dengan motivasi belajar siswa, yaitu: (1) gaya kepemimpinan autokratik guru mata pelajaran IPS di kelas berhubungan positif dan signifikan dengan motivasi belajar siswa sebagai gaya kepemimpinan pendukung, (2) gaya kepemimpinan laissez faire guru mata pelajaran IPS di kelas berhubungan positif dan signifikan dengan motivasi belajar siswa sebagai gaya kepemimpinan pendukung, (3) gaya kepemimpinan demokratis guru mata pelajaran IPS di kelas berhubungan positif dan signifikan dengan motivasi belajar siswa sebagai gaya kepemimpinan dominan. The research aims to determine the relationship of social studies teacher’s leadership style with student’s learning motivation at SMP Negeri 104 South Jakarta. The research uses a correlational method with a sampling technique obtained by 167 students from a population of 272 students. The samples were taken by VII and VII grades for students taught by social studies teacher’s subject. Data were analyzed with product moment correlation coefficient to test hypotheses and obtain conclution. The results showed that there was relationship between the leadership styles of social studies subject teachers in the classroom with students learning motivation, (1) the autocraticleadership style of social studies subject teachers in class was positively and significantly related to students learning motivastion as supporting leadership style, (2) laissez faire leadership style of social studies subject teachers in class was positively and significantly related to students learning motivation as supporting leadership style, (3) democratic leadership styles of social studies subject teachers in class was positively and significantly related to students learning motivation as dominant leadership styles.
