Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh social comparison terhadap fear of failure pada fresh graduate. Metode pada penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan melakukan uji hipotesis yaitu analisis regresi sederhana. Instrumen pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure (INCOM) yang telah dikonstruksi oleh Gibbons & Buunk (1999) untuk mengukur variabel social comparison dan The Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory (PFAI) yang telah dikonstruksi oleh Conroy (2003) untuk mengukur variabel fear of failure. Partisipan pada penelitian ini adalah 304 fresh graduate. Sampel penelitian ini diambil berdasarkan teknik convenience sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa social comparison berpengaruh sebesar 21,9% terhadap fear of failure. Kata Kunci: Social Comparison, Fear of Failure, Fresh Graduate ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of social comparison on fear of failure in fresh graduates. This study method used a quantitative approach and use sample regression analysis for hypothesis testing. The social comparison variable was measured using Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure (INCOM) which was constructed by Gibbons & Buunk (1999) and the fear of failure variable was measured using The Performance Failure Appraisal Inventory (PFAI) which was constructed by Conroy (2003). The participants in this study consist of 304 fresh graduates. This study used a convenience technique for sampling. The result of this study found that social comparison had an effect of 21,9% on fear of failure in fresh graduates. Keywords: Social Comparison, Fear of Failure, Fresh Graduate
