Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe how communication and collaboration skills are integrated into the English learning module of Senior High School, also to investigate the learning module instruction and components in which those skills are integrated. This research is conducted by the qualitative method and the data were gathered by conducting content analysis on 3 different unit from the English learning module “Bahasa Inggris Tingkat Lanjut” for grade XI Senior High School in Indonesia. The study discovered that all of the learning module implemented the knowledge and skills of communication and collaboration in the instruction and activity task. Among all indicators of communication and collaboration integration, most of it already integrated in learning module, except for the intercultural skill and how the differential culture is not introduced to the students. These findings are expected to help teachers to develop and teach students communication and collaboration skills in better way. ***** Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana keterampilan komunikasi dan kolaborasi terintegrasi pada materi pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris SMA, serta untuk menyelidiki komponen materi di mana keterampilan tersebut dimasukkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan data dikumpulkan dengan melakukan analisis isi pada 3 bab berbeda dari materi pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris “Bahasa Inggris Tingkat Lanjut” untuk kelas XI SMA di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa semua modul pembelajaran telah terimplementasi pengetahuan dan keterampilan komunikasi dan kolaborasi pada instruksi dan tugas aktivitas. Dari semua indikator integrasi komunikasi dan kolaborasi, kebanyakan semua indikator telah terintegrasi pada modul pembelajaran kecuali untuk keterampilan antar budaya dan bagaimana perbedaan budaya diperkenalkan kepada murid. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat membantu guru untuk mengembangkan dan mengajarkan murid kemampuan komunikasi dan kolaborasi dengan lebih baik lagi.
