Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan big five personality dengan body dissatisfaction pada remaja di Jabodetabek. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah Big Five Inventory (BFI) yang dikembangkan oleh Goldberg (1992), untuk mengukur variabel big five personality dan Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) yang dikembangkan oleh Cooper dkk.(1987), untuk mengukur variabel body dissatisfaction. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif korelasi. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 90 partisipan dengan rentang usia 16-22 tahun yang berdomisili di Jabodetabek. Metode analisis yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian adalah analisis korelasi. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai p > taraf signifikansi 0,01. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness dan neuroticism dengan body dissatisfaction pada remaja di Jabodetabek. ********** This study aim to determine the big five personality and body dissatisfaction on adolescent in Jabodetabek. The instrument used in this study were the Big Five Inventory (BFI) developed by Goldberg (1992), to measure big five personality and Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) developed Cooper et al., (1987), to measure body dissatisfaction. This study used quantitative corellation method. This study used purposive sampling technique. The sample of this study amount 90 participant age 16-22 years old in Jabodetabek. The method to data analysis is using multiple correlation. The result of data analysis show that p-value > 0,01. Based on the analysis, it can be conclude that there is was a no correlation of openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticsm with body dissatisfaction on adolescent in Jabodetabek.
